TESTIMONIALS

What Sherpa’s Customers are Saying

I’ve used Sherpa twice. Once was from Georgia, and then once was Arkansas. Everybody was very professional. I really didn`t have to do a lot on my end. I was handled as stated. I was very pleased. The recent experience went very smoothly. The first one was a little delayed. But the gentleman that was transporting the vehicle, communicated those delays to me. That was fine because as long as there was communication, I was okay with it. If I have to do it again, I’ll definitely be calling Sherpa.

They answered quickly, so I figured their service would follow suit and it did. They also gave a reasonable quote. It was a little less than I expected to spend. I was pleased with the entire package. The driver also did a good job to communicate with both me and my sister. I felt safe, both with pickup and drop off. He went above and beyond to communicate where it was, where he was, if he ran into any hiccups. He brought it directly to her and they actually ended up changing the location to suit her needs.

KEY FACTORS

Factors that Affect Bentonville, AR Shipping Prices

Distance

Distance plays a major role in your shipping cost. The farther your vehicle travels, the more you’ll pay. Shipping from Bentonville to nearby states like Texas or Missouri will cost less than cross-country transport to California or Florida.

Route

Your route matters significantly. Bentonville sits near major highways like I-49, which connects to I-40 and other major interstates. Routes along these highways cost less than routes to remote areas. Shipping along well-traveled corridors means more carriers and better prices.

Season

Timing affects your costs. Summer months (May through September) are peak season when prices rise due to high demand. Winter months typically offer lower rates. If you have flexibility, shipping during off-peak times can save you money.

Vehicle Type

What you ship matters. Standard sedans cost less to transport than SUVs or trucks. Larger vehicles weigh more, use more fuel, and take up more trailer space. Some carriers can’t accommodate oversized vehicles. Compact cars and sedans always ship for less than larger vehicles.

Traffic Patterns

Heavy traffic periods increase costs. The week before Thanksgiving, holidays, and summer vacation weeks see crowded roads and slower transport. Plan your shipment during quieter periods when possible. This helps carriers move faster and keeps your costs down.

Carrier Availability

Carrier availability varies by season. During peak months, you might wait several weeks for a carrier. In slower months, carriers become available within days. Booking early, especially during busy seasons, helps secure better rates and faster service.

Open vs Enclosed

Trailer type impacts price significantly. Open trailers cost less and work well for most vehicles. Enclosed trailers offer more protection but cost 30-50% more. For everyday cars, open transport is economical and safe. For luxury, classic, or exotic vehicles, enclosed transport provides extra security.

Population Density

Bentonville’s location in Northwest Arkansas works in your favor. The area is accessible without dense urban challenges. However, if you’re shipping to major city centers like downtown Chicago or Manhattan, expect higher costs due to tight streets and delivery restrictions. Consider meeting your carrier in a suburban area with easy access to save money.

TIPS & TRICKS

Tips & Tricks for Saving on Vehicle Shipping

Off Season Savings

Timing matters when shipping your vehicle. Off-season transport costs significantly less than peak periods like summer or snowbird season. Even shifting your shipment by a few weeks can result in substantial savings, making fall and spring ideal times to move your car.

Flexible Pickup & Delivery

Flexible scheduling can reduce your shipping costs. By offering carriers a five-day window for both pickup and delivery instead of exact dates, you increase their routing efficiency. This flexibility often translates to lower rates while still ensuring reliable service for your vehicle.

Hub City Advantages

Location selection impacts pricing in Bentonville. Choose pickup or delivery spots near major highways like I-49 to access more carriers and competitive rates. If shipping to rural areas, consider meeting your carrier in a nearby highway-accessible city to reduce costs.

Open Trailers

Open trailers offer the most economical shipping option for standard vehicles. They cost significantly less than enclosed transport while providing safe, reliable service. Reserve enclosed trailers for luxury, classic, or high-value cars requiring extra protection from weather and road debris.

For most Bentonville residents shipping standard vehicles, open transport offers excellent value and reliability.
