What our Goodyear customers say about Sherpa:
“Was having my car shipped to South Florida. Guys came for my car on a Thursday, we flew out on the following Monday and car made it to use that Wednesday… GREAT DRIVER, VERY FUNNY and easy to speak to. GREAT JOB GUYS!!!!”
“The car was picked up exactly where and when we expected. The two young drivers were neat. They shuffled the cars around to get them in the order they needed them. We watched them do it very carefully in moving cars in and out. And off they went. It disappeared in Phoenix, Arizona. Our family members were here already in Michigan when the car arrived. It arrived at exactly the right time.”
“Despite the horror stories you can find online I have found that auto shipping is generally reliable if you do your research and don’t go just for price. I have shipped three times now, two times across country and the service was good with the other carrier, Sherpa was excellent. The online process is easy and professional for the industry. The paperwork and disclosures were all straight forward and timely. Everything is straight to email. One slight difference is you pay for shipping in two parts and the second part did not offer a credit card option. The shipper S&N Trucking was A+++ fantastic. I was very happy with his profesionalism and communication through out the job. He navigated far more precisely than I’ve seen before and never kept me waiting. During my shipment a bad weather pattern started across the states causing a 50 car pile up around Arizona. This driver was monitoring weather constantly, and was able to navigate past the accident that stopped our house movers by 3 days.”

Factors that affect Goodyear Car Shipping Prices
- Distance and Route: The journey to or from Goodyear, AZ significantly impacts car shipping costs. Longer distances generally mean higher prices. However, Goodyear’s proximity to major highways like I-10 can make transport more efficient and potentially less expensive.
- Vehicle Type: The size and weight of your car affect shipping prices. Larger vehicles like SUVs or trucks cost more to transport than compact cars. This is particularly relevant in Goodyear, where many residents own larger vehicles suited for desert living.
- Transport Method: Open carriers are the most common and cost-effective option for car shipping to or from Goodyear. Enclosed transport, while about 50% more expensive, offers extra protection from Arizona’s intense sun and occasional dust storms for high-value or classic cars.
- Seasonal Factors: Goodyear’s climate can influence car shipping prices. Summer months may see higher rates due to increased demand and the need for extra care during extreme heat. Winter, being milder, might offer more competitive prices.
- Pickup and Delivery Locations: Urban areas like Goodyear are typically easier and cheaper to service than rural locations. However, if you’re shipping to or from a more remote area in Arizona, consider meeting the carrier in Goodyear to potentially reduce costs.
- Timeframe Flexibility: If you’re flexible with your car shipping dates, you might secure better rates. Rush services to or from Goodyear will increase the cost significantly.
- Vehicle Condition: Operable vehicles are cheaper to ship as they can be easily loaded. Inoperable cars require special equipment, increasing the cost of auto transport to or from Goodyear.
Understanding these factors can help you plan your car shipping to or from Goodyear more effectively. For a detailed breakdown of costs, check out our car shipping calculator guide. If you’re deciding between open and enclosed transport, learn more about the differences and benefits of each method.
Tips & Tricks for Saving on Vehicle Shipping
- Book early: Schedule your Goodyear car shipping at least two weeks in advance. This allows carriers to optimize routes and potentially offer discounts for bundling multiple vehicles from the area.
- Choose open transport: Opt for open shipping to get the lowest rates on your auto transport from Goodyear. While enclosed carriers are necessary for some vehicles, open shipping provides more flexibility for negotiating prices.
- Consider location: Work with Sherpa advisors to find pickup/dropoff points near major interstates like I-10, which runs through Goodyear. This can help reduce fuel costs and potentially lower your car shipping quote.
- Empty your vehicle: Remove personal items from your car before shipping. This reduces weight and eliminates concerns about item safety during transport.
- Be flexible: Offering flexibility in pickup and delivery dates can lead to better options and potential savings on your Goodyear auto transport. Consider adjusting your schedule to take advantage of more cost-effective shipping times.
- Utilize Sherpa’s expertise: Our experienced advisors can provide personalized tips for reducing your car shipping costs to or from Goodyear, AZ. With our Price Lock Promise, you’ll get a realistic quote that’s guaranteed, ensuring a smooth and transparent auto transport experience.

Goodyear Car Transport: Local Insights and Regulations
When shipping a car to or from Goodyear, AZ, it’s crucial to understand local regulations and prepare for your move. Arizona doesn’t require a front license plate, so you’ll only need one for your vehicle. The state uses AZ Travel ID for toll roads, but Goodyear itself doesn’t have toll roads. However, if you’re moving away, remember to remove any toll transponders from other states.
Arizona requires all vehicles to pass an emissions test in certain areas, including Goodyear. When registering your car, you’ll need to provide proof of insurance and complete the process at the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT). Goodyear doesn’t have specific parking permits, but check with your new neighborhood for any local restrictions.
For utilities, Arizona Public Service (APS) provides electricity, while the City of Goodyear manages water services. Popular internet providers include Cox and CenturyLink. Don’t forget to update your voter registration and consider getting a Maricopa County library card for access to local resources.
Goodyear’s hot, arid climate means your car transport company should take extra precautions to protect your vehicle from sun damage during shipping. The city is conveniently located near I-10, making it easily accessible for auto transport services.
If you’re moving away from Goodyear, remember to:
- Cancel local memberships
- Forward your mail
- Notify your employer and banks of your new address
- Transfer or close your Arizona driver’s license
By considering these factors, you’ll ensure a smooth transition when using car shipping services to or from Goodyear, AZ. Always consult with your chosen car shipping company for specific requirements and best practices for your unique situation.
Goodyear, Arizona Vehicle Transport FAQs
How do I prepare my vehicle for transit to or from Goodyear?

In short, you’ll want to remove any toll pass or fragile items, make sure you have a key available to provide the carrier, and remove any interior and exterior accessories that could be damaged in transit.
Is my vehicle insured transporting to or from Goodyear?
Yes, our quotes are all-inclusive. All of our carriers are required to have a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability insurance and $100,000 in cargo insurance. To ship your vehicle, we verify that the carrier’s insurance policy is valid and in good standing for the duration of your shipment.
All contracted carriers also add Sherpa as a Certificate Holder on their insurance policy.
How far out should I schedule my pickup service from Goodyear?
The sooner, the better. We recommend at least two weeks, but it’s ideal to post your shipment as soon as possible so that carriers can bundle your shipment with others in the same location.
How do I pay for my auto transport to Goodyear?
No payment is due at the time of booking. We do require a payment method on file so that it is available to charge once a carrier is secured. We accept all major debit and credit cards, including Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express. The most convenient option is to pay for your shipment in full by credit card at the time a carrier is secured.
We also allow you to pay for your Initial Payment via credit or debit card and then pay the outstanding balance on delivery day via cash or a certified check made out to the carrier.

Yes. It is important that you, or another adult that you trust, is there for pickup and delivery of your vehicle. This designated person plays an important role in the shipping process including documenting the state of the vehicle and signing the Bill of Lading, which acts as a receipt of the vehicle’s condition.
What’s the difference between Open vs Enclosed Auto Transport?
Enclosed transport is at least 50% higher than open trailers. Of course, if there are transportation restrictions or safety challenges the carrier will work with you to arrange an alternative location, such as a nearby gas station or parking lot.

We provide one locked-in price upfront and stick to it. If unexpected costs arise, we pay them out of our own pocket. While we may not always be the cheapest option at first glance, our commitment to transparency and reliability offers exceptional value. As a premium service, we ensure an stress-free experience from start to finish.
What types of vehicles can you transport?
We transport sedans, SUVs, pickup trucks, vans and motorcycles across the nation, including service to Alaska and Hawaii. At this time, we do not service boats, golf carts, ATVs, or RVs. Summers in Goodyear are intensely hot, with temperatures often soaring above 100°F (38°C). If you’re scheduling car shipping services during these months, consider these tips:
- Place a sunshade under your car’s windshield to protect the interior from extreme heat.
- Remove any heat-sensitive items from your vehicle before transport.
- Check with your car shipping company about their policies for transporting vehicles in extreme heat.
Winters in Goodyear are mild, making it an ideal destination for snowbirds. This leads to increased demand for auto transport services from October to April. To ensure smooth car shipping during this peak season:
- Book your car transport well in advance to secure your preferred dates.
- Be flexible with your pickup and delivery dates to accommodate the high volume of shipments.
- Consider scheduling your car shipping just before or after the peak snowbird season for potentially lower rates.

- Ensure the pickup and drop-off locations are on level ground, avoiding steep inclines.
- Remove snow tires or chains before transport, as carriers cannot ship vehicles with these installed.
By considering these seasonal factors, you can ensure a smooth and efficient car shipping experience to or from Goodyear, AZ. Always consult with your chosen auto transport provider for specific guidelines and recommendations tailored to your unique shipping needs.

Reviews from our Arizona Customers
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, as evidenced by our 4.9 rating with over 8,000 reviews. Here are a few more reviews from satisfied Arizona customers:
“The experience with Sherpa was wonderful. We contacted different auto transport companies. Sherpa answered a bunch of questions I had that other people couldn`t answer. They were competitive in their pricing too. It was less than I thought it was going to be. When you look at the bad reviews of different companies, you always find out that it`s a bait-and-switch price thing. It scares you a little bit. But Sherpa`s price guarantee alleviated a lot of that. Within a half hour of agreeing with Sherpa, they had a driver assigned. The driver called me up the day before. He told me he was likely to make it out the next morning, but there was a chance he would be there that night and asked if that would be a problem. I told him it wouldn`t be. They picked up the car earlier than we had expected. But we were prepared to do it. The driver was pleasant. He was able to communicate and got the car off the truck. The car came three days before it was anticipated. The driver called the day before to let me know and pinpointed a time. Around that time, he called me up and asked if I could meet him at his location which I did. The car came off perfectly. I`m very happy with their services. When you read about these types of companies that are middlemen like Sherpa, it`s a scary process `cause you hear all kinds of horror stories. But Sherpa was able to relax me, calm me down, and had a flawless pick-up and delivery. The group that Sherpa contracted with was a company called Umbrella. Through emails and communications with both Umbrella and Sherpa, I had the driver`s contact information the whole time. I was clearly led through perfectly. They allowed us extra weight in the car, but we didn`t need any of it. I was floored with how well things went, especially when you consider the weather patterns that were going through East Coast and through the Midwest in early January. Instead of taking the north route, they took the south route through Texas and Arizona.”
“Sherpa Auto Transport shipped my car from AZ to DE, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I did extensive research and landed on 4 major transports. Gary at Sherpa explained the entire process and what I can expect before and during shipping to my full liking over the other big 3. Plus their price was competitive, and they offer a price lock. I informed them the available pick up dates, and they found a driver for me within 2-days, the first of my available pickups. Their pickup and delivery windows were also reasonable, 2 hours for both occasions during my experience. Now, if only more companies could have more reasonable windows. Sherpa hooked me up with a driver from Star Group Transport who was friendly and professional and delivered the car 2-days in advance of the initial delivery date. Note delivery dates are not guaranteed, but I was flexible on delivery. Their driver dispatch gave me a 24hour heads up on the delivery date and a delivery time window the following morning, so it worked out perfectly. All in all a great experience.”
“After calling 4 different transport companies, Sherpa was the most expensive – by about $200 before $100 mail-in rebate. However, after looking at all four company`s BBB reviews, Sherpa was the only one who seemed to be dedicated to making customers feel satisfied instead of vilified. After my initial quote, they followed up every day with a phone call and/or email, only one other company followed up with a couple of emails. The transport window I gave them was filled at the earliest date of the window and the delivery was days faster than the delivery window – which could cause some issues, but thankfully didn`t. The driver called days before and was on time to pick up the vehicle. I`d highly recommend Sherpa for your auto transport broker.”
“I needed to have my vehicle shipped from Arizona to Maryland. I contacted Sherpa Auto Transport based on the Google reviews. My selection of this company was due to the contact and information provided by their representative Danielle. She explained the process to me answered all my questions. I gave them a pickup date and that was the date my vehicle was picked up. They provided me with an estimate delivery date and my delivery happened before the that estimate date. I was very pleased with the driver who contacted me when he was in the area to let me know the delivery day and time. He kept true to his word in contacting and delivery. Thank you Sherpa for giving me peace of mind in the delivery of my vehicle.”
“Sherpa was off the bat cheaper than going through Uship.com, by almost $200. Unlike other transport brokers, they guarantee there quote and will supplement the transporter up to $300 if needed to facilitate pickup/transport. My transport was from Az to Al (1700miles approx). Purchased Tundra on a Monday, and it was delivered to my house the following Monday. Full size trucks take a little longer, ** they take up more space. I felt this was plenty fast enough. This is my 4th transport, and 1st with Sherpa. They were by far the must economical and reliable. Will definitely use again”

What is Car Shipping?
Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in Goodyear, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of Arizona. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.
