Factors that Impact Cost

Distance is the biggest cost factor on this route, but Florida’s busy snowbird season (October–April) also drives up prices, so booking early can save you money.

Tips and Tricks to Save

The single best way to save on this route is to ship during the off-season (May–September), when carrier demand drops and rates are noticeably lower.

How Car Shipping Works

Once booked, a carrier picks up your vehicle in Arizona within 1–5 business days, and you’ll do a walk-around inspection before and after transport to document your car’s condition.

State Insights

Florida requires new residents to register their vehicles within 30 days, and you’ll also want to update your auto insurance since Florida is a no-fault state with different minimum coverage requirements than Arizona.

TESTIMONIALS

What Sherpa’s Customers are Saying

I had a four-door Jeep Wrangler transported from Florida to Arizona. Sherpa was very customer-service-oriented when I spoke with them. The reviews about the company really swayed me to use their service. The price lock option was very nice and I liked that. It was very helpful. Also, the final cost was reasonable. The driver was courteous. Everything worked out great. The intended purpose was fulfilled and there was great customer service.

I have a Kia and I was having it transported from Southern Arizona to Sebring, Florida. The car was picked up on a Tuesday morning and it was delivered on Friday. The gentleman texted me Thursday night and said, “Let them know that I’ll be there first thing in the morning.” In the end, it all worked out fine. The car was delivered exactly as they said it would be. I was promised upfront by Sherpa a free car wash but my car was clean, so I didn’t use the car wash. I was very happy.

I really cannot say enough great things about this company. It was slightly more than the competition but worth every penny. I have read other nightmares. I ordered the transport and had one picking up my vehicle in a matter of hours. It took a few days to get it to me from Phoenix AZ to Tampa FL but it was ahead of their estimate. Additionally their communication couldn’t have been better, they filled me in every step of the way. I truly recommend these people.

KEY FACTORS

Factors that Affect Arizona to Florida Shipping Prices

Distance

Arizona to Florida spans roughly 1,800–2,100 miles depending on your exact cities. That long haul means higher fuel, driver, and time costs — making distance the single biggest pricing factor.

Route

This route primarily follows major interstates like I-10, which is great news for your wallet. Well-traveled highways mean more carriers, smoother logistics, and lower costs compared to rural or coastal back-road routes.

Season

Florida’s snowbird season (October–April) drives up demand significantly. Carriers fill up fast and prices rise. Shipping in summer, while hot, is typically the off-peak window where you’ll find better rates and more availability.

Vehicle Type

Standard sedans are the cheapest to ship. SUVs and trucks take up more trailer space, weigh more, and burn more fuel. Some carriers can’t accommodate oversized trucks at all, so expect to pay a premium for larger vehicles.

Traffic Considerations

High-traffic periods like Thanksgiving week or spring break can slow carriers down significantly on I-10. Delays mean higher costs. Plan your shipment during quieter travel windows to avoid surcharges and scheduling headaches.

Carrier Availability

During peak snowbird season, carriers on the Arizona-to-Florida lane book up weeks in advance. In the off-season, you can often secure a carrier within days. Booking early always gives you more options and better pricing.

Open vs Enclosed

Open transport is cheaper and works perfectly for most everyday vehicles on this route. If you’re shipping a luxury, classic, or exotic car, enclosed transport offers full weather and road debris protection — worth the extra cost.

Population Density

Delivery into dense Florida cities like Miami or Orlando can cost more due to traffic and tight streets. If possible, arrange pickup or drop-off in a nearby suburb. It’s easier for carriers and can save you money.

TIPS & TRICKS

Tips & Tricks for Saving on Vehicle Shipping

Off Season Savings

Shipping during the off-season can save you money. Avoid peak snowbird season in late fall and winter. Even shifting your shipment by a few weeks can lead to noticeably lower rates.

Flexible Pickup & Delivery

Choosing a five-day pickup and delivery window instead of exact dates gives carriers more scheduling flexibility. That flexibility often translates to lower costs, making it an easy way to save.

Hub City Advantages

Carriers prefer routes near major highways. Choosing a pickup or drop-off location close to a major highway hub in Arizona or Florida increases your options and drives down rates with more competition.

Open Trailers

Open trailers cost less than enclosed ones and work well for most standard vehicles. Save enclosed transport for luxury or classic cars that need extra protection from weather and road debris.

HOW IT WORKS

How does Car Shipping from Arizona to Florida Work?

Picturesque view of Florida

Arizona to Florida car shipping is a popular interstate route, covering an average distance of 2,142 miles. Whether you’re relocating, snowbirding, or sending a vehicle to a new owner, professional auto transport makes the journey simple and stress-free. Instead of putting thousands of miles on your car, a licensed carrier does the driving for you — safely and efficiently.

Getting started with Arizona to Florida car shipping is straightforward. First, you’ll request a quote and book your shipment. Once booked, a carrier is assigned and will pick up your vehicle from a convenient location in Arizona, typically within 1–5 business days. Before pickup, you’ll do a quick walk-around inspection with the driver to document your car’s condition. Your vehicle is then loaded onto an open or enclosed carrier and begins its journey east toward Florida.

There are a few things to keep in mind for this specific route. Arizona’s dry desert climate and Florida’s humid, coastal environment are very different, so it’s worth giving your car a good wash upon arrival to check for any transport wear. Florida is one of the busiest auto transport destinations in the country, especially during snowbird season (October through April), which can affect carrier availability and pricing. Booking in advance during peak months helps secure better rates — typically between $1,000 and $1,575 for this route.

Once your vehicle arrives in Florida, you’ll meet the driver for a final inspection, comparing your car’s condition against the original report. The entire car shipping process from Arizona to Florida generally takes 3 to 7 days, depending on the carrier’s route, weather, and scheduling. With Sherpa Auto Transport’s Price Lock Promise, the quote you receive is the price you pay — no surprises at delivery.

INSIGHTS & REGULATIONS

Arizona to Florida Car Transport: State Insights and Regulations

Auto transport truck carrying vehicles

Moving from Arizona to Florida comes with some important vehicle-related changes to keep in mind. When it comes to registration, Florida requires new residents to register their vehicles within 30 days of establishing residency. Unlike Arizona, Florida charges registration fees based on the vehicle’s weight, so costs may differ from what you’re used to. Florida also requires a vehicle identification number (VIN) inspection before completing registration, which Arizona does not mandate.

State laws for vehicles differ between the two states as well. Arizona has no mandatory emissions testing statewide, though some counties like Maricopa require it. Florida does not require emissions testing at all. However, Florida has stricter window tinting laws. The state limits front side windows to 28% light transmission, while Arizona allows 33%. Florida also enforces specific vehicle frame height rules, so lifted trucks or modified suspensions should be reviewed before your move.

When planning Arizona to Florida car shipping, think about how the climate change will affect your vehicle. Florida’s humidity, heavy rain, and salt air are very different from Arizona’s dry desert heat. You won’t need winter tires, but you should check your wiper blades, since Arizona’s dry climate can cause them to crack and wear faster. It’s also smart to inspect your car’s rust protection and undercoating before or after auto transport, as Florida’s coastal air accelerates corrosion. Consider applying a fresh coat of wax to protect your paint as well.

Insurance is another key area to review before your car shipping journey from Arizona to Florida. Florida is a no-fault insurance state, meaning your own insurance covers your injuries regardless of who caused the accident. Arizona is a fault-based state. Florida requires Personal Injury Protection (PIP) coverage, which Arizona does not. This means your current policy may not meet Florida’s minimum requirements, so contact your insurance provider before or shortly after your move to update your coverage and stay fully protected on Florida roads.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Arizona to Florida Vehicle Transport FAQs

Preparing your car for transport from Arizona to Florida is simple. Follow these key steps to ensure a smooth, damage-free shipment:

  • Clean your vehicle: Wash the exterior so the carrier can perform an accurate inspection and document any pre-existing damage before pickup.
  • Document the condition: Take clear photos of all sides of your car before it’s loaded. This protects you in the unlikely event of a dispute.
  • Remove personal items: Carriers are not licensed to transport personal belongings. Remove all valuables, toll passes (like E-ZPass or SunPass), and loose items from the interior.
  • Remove exterior accessories: Take off custom spoilers, bike racks, roof racks, or any other add-ons that could be damaged or cause damage during transit.
  • Check your fluid levels and tires: Make sure there are no active leaks and that your tires are properly inflated. Carriers may refuse vehicles with leaks.
  • Leave a quarter tank of gas: Enough fuel is needed to load and unload your vehicle, but a full tank adds unnecessary weight.
  • Disable your car alarm: An alarm that triggers during transport can cause delays. If you can’t disable it, leave instructions for the carrier.
  • Provide a working key: Make sure the carrier has a key to operate your vehicle for loading and unloading.

For a full checklist, visit our Vehicle Shipping Tips page. A little preparation goes a long way in making your Arizona to Florida car shipment as smooth as possible!

Yes, your vehicle is insured during transport from Arizona to Florida. Every carrier in our network is required to carry a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability insurance and $100,000 in cargo insurance.

Before your car ever leaves Arizona, we verify that the carrier’s insurance policy is active and in good standing. We don’t just take their word for it — Sherpa Auto Transport is added as a Certificate Holder on every carrier’s insurance policy, giving you an extra layer of protection.

Here are a few more things to keep in mind:

  • No hidden fees: Insurance coverage is included in your quote. There are no surprise charges at pickup or delivery.
  • Document the condition of your car: Before the carrier picks up your vehicle in Arizona, both you and the driver will complete a Bill of Lading. This document records the current condition of your car and serves as your protection if any damage occurs during the long haul to Florida.
  • Check your personal auto insurance: Some personal auto insurance policies offer additional coverage during transport. It’s worth a quick call to your provider before your shipment date.

Have more questions about coverage? Our team is happy to help. Contact Sherpa Auto Transport and we’ll walk you through everything before you book.

The sooner you book, the better. We recommend scheduling your Arizona pickup at least two weeks in advance. If your move date is flexible, booking three to four weeks ahead gives you even more options.

Here’s why early booking matters:

  • More carrier choices: Carriers plan routes in advance. Booking early means more drivers are available for your lane from Arizona to Florida.
  • Better rates: Last-minute shipments often cost more. Early bookings give carriers time to bundle your vehicle with others heading the same way, which can lower your price.
  • Less stress: The Arizona-to-Florida route is a popular one, especially during snowbird season (October through April). Demand spikes during those months, so plan ahead.

Need to ship on short notice? We can still help. Sherpa Auto Transport works hard to match you with a reliable carrier as quickly as possible. Just know that rush bookings may come with higher rates and fewer available pickup windows.

No payment is due at the time of booking. We do require a payment method on file so that it is available to charge once a carrier is secured. We accept all major debit and credit cards, including Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express. The most convenient option is to pay for your shipment in full by credit card at the time a carrier is secured.

We also allow you to pay for your Initial Payment via credit or debit card and then pay the outstanding balance on delivery day via cash or a certified check made out to the carrier.

Your Sherpa shipment includes up to 100 lbs of personal items or household goods stored in the trunk area or secured below the window line. If you are shipping to or from a port or your shipment includes ocean transit, your vehicle must be emptied of all items. Sherpa and your assigned carrier cannot be responsible for personal items left inside the vehicle. See our Vehicle Shipping Tips for more details.

Yes. It is important that you, or another adult that you trust, is there for pickup and delivery of your vehicle. This designated person plays an important role in the shipping process including documenting the state of the vehicle and signing the Bill of Lading, which acts as a receipt of the vehicle’s condition.

When shipping your car from Arizona to Florida, you have two options: open transport and enclosed transport.

Open transport is the most popular and affordable choice. Your vehicle rides on an open-air trailer — the same type used to deliver new cars to dealerships. It’s safe, reliable, and gets the job done for most standard vehicles.

Enclosed transport provides a fully covered trailer that shields your car from road debris, dust, and weather. This extra protection typically costs 50% or more than open transport. It’s the best choice if you’re shipping a:

  • Classic or antique car
  • Luxury or exotic vehicle
  • Car with a custom paint job or modifications

For most everyday vehicles making the trip from Arizona to Florida, open transport is the smart, cost-effective choice. If your car has high value or sentimental worth, the added peace of mind from enclosed transport is well worth the investment.

Not sure which option is right for you? Check out our in-depth open vs. enclosed auto transport guide to help you decide.

Yes! Sherpa Auto Transport offers door-to-door auto transport service for all shipments from Arizona to Florida. This is the most convenient way to ship your car — no need to drop it off at a terminal or travel out of your way.

Here’s how it works: when you book your shipment, simply provide your preferred pickup address in Arizona and your delivery address in Florida. Your assigned carrier will come directly to you and deliver your vehicle as close to your door as safely possible.

Keep in mind that large car carriers cannot always access every street. Narrow roads, low-hanging trees, or tight residential areas may require a small adjustment. If that happens, your driver will coordinate with you to find a nearby meeting point — like a parking lot or gas station — just a short distance away.

Door-to-door service is available for all major routes from Arizona to Florida, including popular city pairs like Phoenix to Miami, Tucson to Orlando, and Scottsdale to Tampa. It’s the easiest, most hassle-free way to get your vehicle safely across the country.

Many Auto Transport companies try to tease customers with lower rates, only to surprise you with “hidden costs” later. At Sherpa Auto Transport, we do things differently. We provide one locked-in price upfront and stick to it. If unexpected costs arise, we pay them out of our own pocket.

While we may not always be the cheapest option at first glance, our commitment to transparency and reliability offers exceptional value. As a premium service, we ensure an stress-free experience from start to finish.

We transport sedans, SUVs, pickup trucks, vans and motorcycles across the nation, including service to Alaska and Hawaii. At this time, we do not service boats, golf carts, ATVs, or RVs. We can ship both operable and inoperable vehicles so long as the vehicle can roll, brake, and steer, and that you can provide the carrier with a key to the vehicle. We can also ship electric vehicles.
