TESTIMONIALS

What Sherpa’s Customers are Saying

The drivers were amazing. When they stepped out of the truck, I felt like they were related to me. They were so super about communicating with me, but also with my sister who they had to meet here in Williamsport. Both of them immediately reached out to me and my sister separately, because we were the ones receiving the vehicle in Arizona. In terms of the drivers themselves, if I could be guaranteed to get them again, I would love to have them again. They were so concerned, making sure that we knew if they were going to be late for any reason.

I called Sherpa and they reactivated the bid and even though it was some weeks later, they gave us the original price that they had quoted us. It was seamless. We made arrangements, paid our deposit and left the car with some friends because all of this was last minute and Sherpa gave us a pickup window of several days. They notified the friends when the driver was coming to pick up the vehicle. They took pictures. It was very well done and they came super fast. I was surprised. It was two and a half days, maybe, to transport from Jonesboro, Georgia, which is a suburb of Atlanta, all the way out here to Gilbert, Arizona, which is a suburb of the Phoenix Metro area.

We needed a vehicle transported from Georgia to New Mexico. After spending hours researching several companies and reading many, many reviews, we chose Sherpa Auto Transport and requested a quote. We couldn`t have been happier with the service we received from Sherpa or Ro-Way Express. Excellent communication with both companies. Gabriela was my primary contact for Ro-Way and was excellent at keeping me apprised of the status of our vehicle. Emil (transporter) was a joy to deal with and took very good care of our vehicle, which arrived in pristine condition, sooner than expected.

KEY FACTORS

Factors that Affect Arizona to Georgia Shipping Prices

Distance

Arizona to Georgia spans approximately 1,400-1,800 miles depending on your specific cities. This cross-country distance significantly impacts shipping costs, as carriers factor fuel, driver time, and vehicle wear into pricing calculations.

Route

The Arizona-Georgia corridor follows major interstates like I-40 and I-20, making it a popular shipping route. This high-traffic pathway typically offers competitive pricing due to frequent carrier availability and established logistics networks.

Season

Winter months see increased Arizona-to-Georgia shipping demand as snowbirds relocate. Summer moves are also popular but less costly. Spring and fall typically offer the best rates due to lower seasonal demand.

Vehicle Type

Compact cars cost less to ship than SUVs or trucks on the Arizona-Georgia route. Larger vehicles require more trailer space, increase fuel consumption, and may need specialized equipment, driving up shipping costs.

Traffic Considerations

Avoid shipping during Thanksgiving week or major holidays when highways between Arizona and Georgia experience heavy traffic. Peak travel times can delay transport and increase costs due to slower delivery schedules.

Carrier Availability

Arizona-Georgia is a popular route with good carrier availability year-round. However, peak seasons may require 1-2 weeks booking lead time, while off-season shipments often secure carriers within days.

Open vs Enclosed

Open trailers cost significantly less for Arizona-Georgia shipping and suit most vehicles. Enclosed transport costs 40-60% more but protects luxury cars from weather and road debris during the cross-country journey.

Population Density

Shipping between major Arizona and Georgia cities like Phoenix-Atlanta costs less than rural deliveries. Dense urban areas offer better carrier access, while remote locations may require additional pickup/delivery fees.

TIPS & TRICKS

Tips & Tricks for Saving on Vehicle Shipping

Off Season Savings

Avoid peak snowbird season (October-December) when shipping from Arizona to Georgia. Choose off-season months like summer for lower rates. Even shifting your timeline by a few weeks can result in significant savings.

Flexible Pickup & Delivery

Offer flexible pickup and delivery windows to reduce costs. Choosing a five-day window instead of exact dates gives carriers more scheduling options, allowing them to offer you more competitive pricing.

Hub City Advantages

Select pickup and delivery locations near major highways in both states. Cities with easy highway access provide more carrier options and competitive rates compared to remote rural locations that require extra travel time.

Open Trailers

Choose open trailers over enclosed ones for standard vehicles to save money. Open transport costs significantly less than enclosed. Reserve enclosed trailers only for luxury, classic, or high-value cars needing extra protection.

INSIGHTS & REGULATIONS

Arizona to Georgia Car Transport: State Insights and Regulations

Auto transport truck carrying vehicles

When planning Arizona to Georgia car shipping, understanding the regulatory differences between states helps ensure a smooth transition. Arizona requires vehicle registration within 15 days of establishing residency, while Georgia allows 30 days for new residents to register their vehicles. Both states require proof of insurance, but Georgia has stricter minimum coverage requirements with higher liability limits than Arizona.

Vehicle regulations vary significantly between these states. Georgia requires annual emissions testing in metro Atlanta counties, while Arizona only tests vehicles in Maricopa and Pima counties. Window tinting laws differ too – Arizona allows 33% VLT on front side windows, but Georgia permits only 32%. Georgia also has stricter vehicle height modifications, limiting lifted trucks to 4 inches above manufacturer specifications.

Auto transport from Arizona to Georgia requires weather-related vehicle preparations. Georgia’s humid subtropical climate and occasional winter weather demand different considerations than Arizona’s desert conditions. Consider switching to all-season tires before your car shipping date, as Arizona’s summer tires may not perform well in Georgia’s wet conditions. Ensure your cooling system can handle higher humidity levels, and check weatherstripping for the increased moisture exposure.

Insurance considerations play a crucial role in Arizona to Georgia car shipping. Georgia requires higher minimum liability coverage ($25,000 per person vs. Arizona’s $25,000 per person for bodily injury). Georgia also mandates uninsured motorist coverage, which is optional in Arizona. Contact your insurance provider before your auto transport to adjust coverage levels and ensure compliance with Georgia’s requirements. Some insurers offer better rates in Georgia due to different risk factors, potentially saving money on your policy after the move.

Yes. It is important that you, or another adult that you trust, is there for pickup and delivery of your vehicle. This designated person plays an important role in the shipping process including documenting the state of the vehicle and signing the Bill of Lading, which acts as a receipt of the vehicle’s condition.

Open auto transport uses open trailers that expose your car to weather and road debris. It costs less and works well for most everyday vehicles. Enclosed auto transport puts your car inside a covered trailer for full protection.

Here are the key differences:

  • Cost: Enclosed transport costs 40-60% more than open transport
  • Protection: Enclosed shields your car from rain, dust, and road debris during the Arizona to Georgia trip
  • Capacity: Open trailers carry 8-10 cars while enclosed trailers carry 2-6 cars
  • Availability: Open transport has more trucks and faster pickup times

Choose enclosed transport if you have a luxury car, classic vehicle, or custom paint job. For regular cars, open transport is safe and budget-friendly. Most cars shipped from Arizona to Georgia use open transport without issues.
