What our Riverside customers say about Sherpa:
“I had to transport a vehicle from California to here and the company I selected, Sherpa, was the one that I felt most comfortable with. The rep was professional, direct to the point and gave me all good, useful, and helpful information. Sherpa was most upfront with the cost and what it would be, and stayed to that.”
“Working with the rep was good. But I was confused about the timetable. He explained to me that there was supposed to be a one week window and that the closer it is to the weekend, the more expensive it is. Also, the pickup changed from time to time. Other than that, the quote provided and the driver were great.”
“I was very please with the transport of my vehicle. They kept in contact with on updates about when I should receive my vehicle. Everything went well. Once the car came it was inspected, and carefully taken off of the truck. I signed off on the paperwork that was given and the payment was made. Thank you.”

- Vehicle Size: Larger or heavier vehicles, such as SUVs or trucks, typically cost more to ship to Riverside than standard cars due to the space and weight they occupy on the carrier.
- Route Popularity: Shipping to or from Riverside can be more affordable due to its proximity to major highways like I-215 and State Route 91, making it easily accessible for carriers.
- Seasonal Factors: Auto transport prices to Riverside may fluctuate seasonally. Summer months often see higher demand and prices, while winter can offer more competitive rates.

Is my vehicle insured transporting to or from Riverside?
Yes, our quotes are all-inclusive. All of our carriers are required to have a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability insurance and $100,000 in cargo insurance. To ship your vehicle, we verify that the carrier’s insurance policy is valid and in good standing for the duration of your shipment.

Most off-campus apartments offer parking, but it’s wise to confirm before signing a lease. For students shipping a car to Riverside College, note that on-campus parking is limited and permits are required. California Baptist University also requires parking permits for on-campus parking. When using auto transport services to bring your car, remember to check if your new residence provides secure parking. For winter breaks, UCR offers long-term parking options, but space is limited. “This is my first time writing a review, my experience with everyone at Sherpa Auto Transport was so professional and positive that I was compelled to share my experience too. I shipped three cars from Riverside, California to Philadelphia, PA. The price was very reasonable and the service was excellent. The scheduled pick-up and delivery was timely and they kept me posted. We were driving a U-Haul to Philadelphia and called several times to ensued that my cars would be delivered on time; the staff was always efficient did not get upset and gave me an update in real-time. The driver was very nice and delivery the cars as scheduled. I highly recommend Sherpa Auto Transport to anyone needing to transport his or her auto. Sherpa Auto Transport has excellent service, a professional staff, and willing to assist me regardless of how many times you call them.”
“I called Sherpa Auto Transport and they were nice. They gave me a timeframe. I couldn`t be there so I talked to my brother, and he did the paperwork. And over here, I picked the car up. If I need it again, I`ll use them again.”
“I purchased a ‘99 BMW and it was coming from California. I used Sherpa as the reviews that I saw were much better than the others. I had a very good interaction with customer service. They introduced themselves and were very thorough as far as explaining the process step by step. They answered any questions that I had. The rep was very insightful and knowledgeable as far as expectation when it comes to timeframes, which was very nice. He was a very good representative. The pricing was very comparable to other providers. There was only a $20 or $30 difference from the other companies. Even though they were a little bit more, I didn’t mind. I liked the Price Lock Promise. The delivery actually worked out very well and the car got here super quickly over the weekend. They picked it up on Friday and I got it on Monday. The driver was very nice and let me know when he was 30 minutes away. He brought the car to my house. He backed it out for me and gave me my paperwork. I did an open transport and it was uncovered. The car just looked like it had been driven in the wind but it was exactly how it was when it was picked up. I would have liked to have done the closed transport but it’s understandable that it`s a little bit more expensive. But for what I was getting, the price was spot on. Sherpa is worth it.”
“We just had our daughter`s car transported. I had trouble because I didn`t know how the whole process works. The car wasn`t getting picked up. It was listed lower. Sherpa didn`t explain it. I would say, “Somebody quoted me at 1,200.†And the guy would say, “Okay. I can match that.†So, he had it listed but it wasn`t going anywhere. I didn`t have any idea. I spoke with them a few times, and the first time, I spoke with a lady and she explained how it works. She was nice and upfront. She looked on there and said, “I can see your car is listed twice. That`s not good, because they`re bidding against each other.†And she said, “You want to contact the one of the two and have them not listed, just take it off.†I called them back because she was helpful. It was getting close to time that we needed the car to be there. The guy just explained to me that we needed to up the price if we wanted to get picked up and delivered. I would get a rental car so it was worth a couple extra $100 to get it picked up. As soon as I spoke with him that day, he took a deposit. And four hours later, somebody was coming to pick it up. That guy was super nice. I told him, “I don`t know exactly where we`re gonna have it delivered to but it`s Birmingham, Alabama.†And he said, “Okay, I`ll put down ‘To be determined.’ and you can let me know.†While we were figuring it out, this was between Friday and Sunday, so he didn`t even have a destination address. When he called me, I told him the address of the truck stop place. I called him back and asked him if he could just deliver it to my family, and he said, “Okay. No problem.“ So, it worked out good. The guy called me and gave me an update when it would be at my cousin`s house, because it got there before we did, which was surprising. He got it there in three days. It was crazy how fast it went. He picked the car up on Friday afternoon and it arrived Sunday night.”
“I just put in one online request for a quote, and I got inundated with emails and text messages. But Sherpa was more personal. I was able to speak to a live human being on the phone. And they made the process simple as far as booking it. And when the guy showed up to pick up my car, he was able to get right around the corner from my house so I could walk. I was able to drive my car to where he was and walk back home. The communication of the driver was fantastic. He called me two days before, the day before, and a few hours before. He kept in communication with me through the whole process from three days out, which was fantastic. And he let me sit there and watch him load my car on to the transport and answered all the questions I had. And he was taking my car 2,600 miles and got my car to its location in four days. My husband received the car. And the driver made that transition so smooth that it was fantastic. The driver got as close as he could to our house, because we live in a rural area and there are a lot of two-lane roads. So, he got close to our house. And my husband just met him. My car transport was the smoothest part of our move. It was awesome.”

What is Car Shipping?
Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in Riverside, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of California. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.
