Factors that affect Milton Car Shipping Prices
- Distance: The length of the journey from or to Milton, FL significantly impacts car shipping costs. Longer distances typically mean higher prices, but per-mile rates often decrease for longer trips.
- Transport Type: Open carriers are the most common and cost-effective option for car shipping to or from Milton. Enclosed transport, while about 50% more expensive, offers protection from weather and road debris, which can be beneficial during Florida’s hurricane season.
- Vehicle Size: Larger or heavier vehicles, like SUVs or trucks, cost more to ship to Milton than standard cars due to the space and weight they occupy on the carrier.
- Route Popularity: Milton’s proximity to I-10 can affect pricing. More frequent routes along major highways often have competitive rates due to higher demand and carrier availability.
- Seasonal Factors: Auto transport to Milton may see price fluctuations during peak seasons. Summer months and January typically have higher demand and costs, while spring and fall might offer more favorable rates.
- Delivery Timeframe: Flexible pickup and delivery dates can lead to more economical car shipping options to Milton. Expedited services are available but come at a premium.
- Vehicle Condition: Operable vehicles are easier and cheaper to transport. Non-running cars require special equipment for loading, increasing the cost of shipping to or from Milton.

“Excellent service. Proactive and clear communication. Amazing followup. Can’t recommend highly enough.”
“If you`ve never used a transport company, read this first . . . One thing to know is if you fill out any form online, you will be bombarded with thirty phone calls, texts, and emails — 30 for each. It was non-stop. My fault for not thinking. Next thing to know is that there are many scam artists who will take your money. Nothing against call centers in another country but the manipulating tactics of these “salesman” made me uncomfortable. We had two cars to transport from south florida to San Diego. Our sons are both marines newly stationed in CA and they needed their cars. I spoke to another transport company who quote $2500 per car. When I said I wanted to get other quotes, I was sternly informed that I would not find nothing better. Lol. The way transports work is that your “transport need” gets posted on a “board” where the actual transporters or transport companies will bid on them. They need their transport truck to be filled. Sometimes, if the quote the company you called (which is a middle man, not the transporter) doesn`t get filled, you will get a call from that company asking you for more money to entice. Transporter to take your bid to transport your cars. You will deal with NONE of that with Sherpa Transport. They guarantee the first price quote in writing that you accept. And there is not a single fee or hidden charge after that. I had such a bad experience with the dozens of calls and abusive quotes that I asked the Sherpa agent how this whole thing works. He as honest and explained it all to me. Then he explained they only with with insured vetted transporters. The experience with the transporter was incredible. The dispatcher called me a few days early and communicated with me the name of river and time window. Then the actual driver called me. He was an Angel! He was so kind and friendly. His truck was top notch and IMMACULATE! I knew the cars would be safe. We paid around $1300 each ($2600 total). Considering the insurance costs, gas, cost to maintain those trucks, and time, it was worth every penny. But the peace of mind was out of this world! I had a safe feeling with Sherpa. I spoke to several agents because my first agent was off the next day when I was due to sign. Every person I spoke to was highly respectful and helpful (night and day to the other companies I spoke to). Note that you have 24 hours to take the quote. You won`t have to worry, you are making the best decision. Great job Sherpa! And reward your agents! They are well trained and caring which is hard to find in this day and age”
“Just used them to transport my mom`s old 1993 Del Sol from Inverness, FL to Pittsburgh, PA. Created the request on Sat 7 Oct. Same day I received confirmation of the booking and price (lower than the other companies I contacted). Received an email on Sun 8 Oct that they were still searching for a driver. On Mon 9 Oct, I received an email indicating a driver was located. At 3 PM I received a call informing me the driver would like to pick up at 6 PM the same day. Wow that was quick. Driver arrived at 6:40 pm on Mon 9 Oct – first working day after my initial contact. The driver did call me directly to confirm the person she was to obtain the car from – my sister. Since the truck was so large and my Pittsburgh location is down narrow streets, I decided to change the delivery location to a barely used strip mall directly off the interstate. On Tue at 9:10 AM I texted the new location to my Sherpa contact. My Sherpa contact agreed and indicated the car should be delivered the same day. The driver did call me, 30 minutes before she expected to arrive at the strip mall parking lot. Wow by 6:30 PM on Tue 10 Oct the car was delivered in perfect condition. Seriously it could not have been easier or better service delivered. I highly recommend Sherpa Auto Transport!!!!”
“From the moment I contacted Sherpa Auto Transport, everything was smooth and efficient. I placed a call on Friday, had a call back by Saturday morning and transport arranged by Monday. They picked the car up in FL on Wednesday morning and we had it in San Antonio, TX on Thursday night. The driver was very responsive and courteous and his truck was immaculate. I was also extremely impressed with his driving ability. We have a sloped driveway and he maneuvered the trailer deftly right up to the garage door with literally a half inch of clearance to spare. The car arrived in the exact condition it was when it left. I have never transported a car before and to say it was a little bit daunting is an understatement. After getting the run around from another carrier, Sherpa really stepped in and made things easy. They were patient, explained the process thoroughly and answered all my questions without making me feel stupid for asking. I transported a car that was my father’s (a 1964 Porsche 356) that is very special to our family and I would trust Sherpa with it again.”
“When I did some research prior to shipping my car, from FL to CO, I saw several brokers recommended over and over. One of those names was Sherpa which just happened to be the first one I asked for a quote. I was very surprised at the price quoted as I was expecting it to be much higher and subsequent quotes from other brokers were 25-50% higher at least. Normally the lowest price would make somewhat leery but the reviews from others were so good and the few reviews that were not 5* were not really Sherpa`s fault.I accepted Sherpa`s quote and spoke to a lovely young lady called ***** who explained the process and all the details. I was given a 5 day window for my pick up period starting on the day of my choosing. As this fell over a weekend it was really 7 days and I was getting a bit nervous by day 4. A quick phone call to Sherpa and ***** assured me things were normal and she was very confident I would be assigned a carrier soon especially since Sherpa would invoke their guarantee. Sure enough I got a call the next day from the carrier saying they would be at my house in 2 hours. The driver went over my car with me and pointed out a few existing scratches etc then carefully loaded my car. He told me when he expected to deliver my car. 3 days later my car was delivered to my daughter`s house a little dirty but without any damage; Sherpa`s Clean Car rebate fixed that. This was perfect timing as the delivery was 2 days before my arrival, so my car was waiting for me upon arrival. This is my first time shipping a car long distance and I am thoroughly impressed with Sherpa and would have no hesitation using them again or recommending them to others.”

What is Car Shipping?
Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in Milton, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of Florida. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.
