What our Winter Park customers say about Sherpa:
“Top Line Auto Service based out of California dropped the car off. The two brothers met me. I had spoken to Joseph on the phone, and figured out what direction they were coming from, which was east from Florida. And based on where I live, I gave them the best place that I thought would be the easiest to pull up an 18-wheeler, and with a truckload of cars, to offload it and meet them to where they could easily get back on the interstate again and go about their day without having to snake through city traffic.”
“It didn’t take me too long to get my date I wanted to sent my car from Crestview, Florida to Denver Colorado. I gave Shane the date May 23rd I asked for and the driver arrived on that day I asked for. The dispatcher from the company assigned for me were incredible, the lady dispatcher were on top of informing me on date when the driver will come to pick my car.”
“We had two cars to transport from south florida to San Diego. Our sons are both marines newly stationed in CA and they needed their cars. I spoke to another transport company who quote $2500 per car. When I said I wanted to get other quotes, I was sternly informed that I would not find nothing better. Lol.”

- Distance: The length of the journey from or to Winter Park, FL significantly impacts car shipping costs. Longer distances generally mean higher prices, but per-mile rates often decrease for longer trips.
- Vehicle Size: Larger or heavier vehicles, like SUVs or trucks, typically cost more to ship than smaller cars due to the space they occupy on the carrier.
- Transport Type: Open carriers are the most common and cost-effective option for auto transport to or from Winter Park. Enclosed transport, while more expensive, offers additional protection from Florida’s unpredictable weather and is ideal for high-value or classic cars.
- Season: Summer months and January tend to have higher car shipping rates due to increased demand. Winter Park’s mild climate makes it a popular destination year-round, potentially affecting prices.

Winter Park car shipping requires attention to detail, especially regarding toll systems. Florida uses SunPass for electronic tolling, so remember to remove or deactivate your transponder before auto transport to avoid unnecessary charges. For those moving to Winter Park, you’ll want to obtain a SunPass once you arrive.
Florida has specific vehicle registration requirements. New residents must register their vehicles within 10 days of establishing residency or starting employment. The process involves providing proof of insurance, completing a vehicle identification number (VIN) inspection, and presenting your out-of-state title and registration. For internet, providers like Spectrum and AT&T serve the area. Don’t forget to update your voter registration and, if applicable, enroll your children in Orange County Public Schools.

Is my vehicle insured transporting to or from Winter Park?
Yes, our quotes are all-inclusive. All of our carriers are required to have a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability insurance and $100,000 in cargo insurance. To ship your vehicle, we verify that the carrier’s insurance policy is valid and in good standing for the duration of your shipment.

The sooner, the better. We recommend at least two weeks, but it’s ideal to post your shipment as soon as possible so that carriers can bundle your shipment with others in the same location.
How do I pay for my auto transport to Winter Park?
No payment is due at the time of booking. We do require a payment method on file so that it is available to charge once a carrier is secured. We accept all major debit and credit cards, including Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express. We also allow you to pay for your Initial Payment via credit or debit card and then pay the outstanding balance on delivery day via cash or a certified check made out to the carrier.

What’s the difference between Open vs Enclosed Auto Transport?
Enclosed transport is at least 50% higher than open trailers. We provide one locked-in price upfront and stick to it. If unexpected costs arise, we pay them out of our own pocket. While we may not always be the cheapest option at first glance, our commitment to transparency and reliability offers exceptional value. Reviews from our Florida Customers
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, as evidenced by our 4.9 rating with over 8,000 reviews. Here are a few more reviews from satisfied Florida customers:
“Our daughter was moving from Florida to California for a transfer with her job and she needed to ship a 2010 Toyota RAV4. She looked at a few transport companies online and contacted one company. They took a deposit and sent the contract. But we didn’t like the terms of their contract at all and they didn’t have a very good rating on the Better Business Bureau. Then, we found Sherpa and we went with them. We’re very happy with our experience from start to finish. Their name is very cool and certainly good marketing on their part because it’s easy to remember. The customer service rep we had answered very quickly and explained the whole process. He told us a little bit about how the industry works and a little bit about how we don’t pay a deposit until we see the contract. The contract was just attached to the quote so we could take a look at the whole thing and see what we were getting into. Then we called back and told them to go ahead and look for a driver for us. It was a very easy transaction and their people were very good to talk to. They didn’t pester us, they told us what we needed to know, and were very professional.”
“We were moving from California to Florida with two vehicles and pets, and a transport was easier with traveling with animals. Sherpa`s agent was easy to work with and very knowledgeable. I did the quote online and I screenshotted it. But then, I had questions so I called. The gentleman I talked to was super nice and he gave me a quote which was higher. I gave him my original quote and asked if he`d be able to match the rate. And he matched the online rate. They were supposed to pick up on a Monday, and they ended up picking up on a Sunday, but they called ahead of time the day before and let us know. Then, we had to bring the vehicles to a larger intersection because the roads were too windy for the truck to get up. We didn`t know that until they called to say that they couldn`t get up there and asked if we could bring the cars down. Then, they walked around the vehicles, took pictures, noted any dings or dents as they went, and they emailed us the bill of lading which had all of the information and photos attached. From the Los Angeles area to Sarasota, the transport was supposed to take 5 to 10 days, and it took 2. Two guys did the transport and they drove all night long. It was crazy.”
“Sherpa was very responsive. I was on a timeline and needed a company that was going to be professional and timely. I could tell Sherpa was very organized and did a lot of auto transport. They gave a quote in a timely manner via email and were very clear on the next steps. They were top-notch. The vehicles were picked up on time as arranged and the drivers were professional. First, we started with one vehicle then we added a second one. Where I lived in Florida, they didn`t allow trucks that size so I met one of the drivers at a parking lot nearby. I met the other driver on a residential street nearby that allowed larger trucks. But they were both very convenient, less than a mile from my home in Florida. Both drivers were communicative throughout and I`m very pleased with how my two vehicles were transported from one coast to the other. They were dirty but the nice thing about Sherpa is you could go get a car wash on them and I took advantage of that. I got both cars washed and sent them the receipt. They credited my credit card $20 for each vehicle. My only complaint is the price was high but Sherpa didn`t change the pricing so it was fair. Also, the price was high with every auto transport. I could have found one a little bit cheaper but they didn`t seem as professional.”
“I asked Sherpa for an enclosed container to transport a car versus the open carrier. The first one they got fell through but within two hours, they found another. They picked the car up on Saturday morning and I got it Monday morning. So, I was pleased with that. But what I was more pleased with was them being honest with me. They had good reviews, too and this contract carrier they used did a nice job. My vehicle was transported from Florida to Virginia and I was told when they were going to pick it up. After they picked it up, I heard from the driver in the afternoon on Sunday. I was told that they could be here the next morning and said they`d be here at 8:00 a.m, and they were actually here about 7:50, which was even better. So, they came when they said they were going to come. They also said they`d call at least 12 hours before delivery but they called a little longer than that period, which was even better to get a little more time. All in all, everybody did what they said they were going to do and I was pleased.”
“Just used them to transport my mom`s old 1993 Del Sol from Inverness, FL to Pittsburgh, PA. Created the request on Sat 7 Oct. Same day I received confirmation of the booking and price (lower than the other companies I contacted). Received an email on Sun 8 Oct that they were still searching for a driver. On Mon 9 Oct, I received an email indicating a driver was located. At 3 PM I received a call informing me the driver would like to pick up at 6 PM the same day. Wow that was quick. Driver arrived at 6:40 pm on Mon 9 Oct – first working day after my initial contact. The driver did call me directly to confirm the person she was to obtain the car from – my sister. Since the truck was so large and my Pittsburgh location is down narrow streets, I decided to change the delivery location to a barely used strip mall directly off the interstate. On Tue at 9:10 AM I texted the new location to my Sherpa contact. My Sherpa contact agreed and indicated the car should be delivered the same day. The driver did call me, 30 minutes before she expected to arrive at the strip mall parking lot. Wow by 6:30 PM on Tue 10 Oct the car was delivered in perfect condition. Seriously it could not have been easier or better service delivered. I highly recommend Sherpa Auto Transport!!!!”

What is Car Shipping?
Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in Winter Park, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of Florida. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.
