TESTIMONIALS

What Sherpa’s Customers are Saying

My friend moved to Florida, and he wanted his car, so I googled places to transport cars from Michigan to Florida. A bunch of companies came up, then I got a text from Sherpa. I called some other places, and some guy guaranteed they would do it for $600. I was gonna go with him and I kept waiting away, then he kept saying, “No. We can`t do it. I got somebody, but you got to give us 900 more dollars.” I said, “No. You should have told me the deal right from the beginning instead of promising something else.” So, I went with Sherpa.

My son had his household goods as well as the car moved from Washington to Missouri. For the car transport, we looked at three different companies and ended up with Sherpa because the cost was reasonable. That worked out perfectly. We had a very good encounter with customer service. I didn`t have any problems understanding how the process worked. The quote we got was kind of what I was expecting and it was accurate.

I called several companies and decided to use Sherpa. I read a lot of reviews saying that there were a lot of scammers out there adding cost at delivery, and Sherpa has a price guarantee, which turned out we had to use. The reviews online also put them on top, even though I could find some that were less expensive and some that were more expensive. Their reps were very responsive. In fact, when I hadn`t heard something for a while and because it was gonna be the next week that my pickup was supposed to be, I called and they said that`s not uncommon.

KEY FACTORS

Factors that Affect Florida to Missouri Shipping Prices

Distance

Florida to Missouri spans approximately 900-1,200 miles depending on your specific cities. This substantial distance significantly impacts shipping costs, as carriers factor fuel, driver time, and vehicle wear into pricing.

Route

Major interstate highways like I-75 and I-70 connect Florida to Missouri efficiently. These well-traveled routes offer lower shipping costs compared to rural pickup locations requiring detours from main trucking corridors.

Season

Winter months see increased Florida-to-Missouri shipping demand as snowbirds relocate. Summer and holiday seasons also drive higher prices. Spring and fall typically offer the most affordable shipping rates.

Vehicle Type

Standard sedans cost less to ship than SUVs, trucks, or oversized vehicles. Larger vehicles require more trailer space, increase fuel consumption, and may need specialized equipment, raising shipping expenses.

Traffic Considerations

Peak travel times like Thanksgiving week and spring break create highway congestion between Florida and Missouri. Scheduling shipments during off-peak periods helps avoid delays and potential surcharges from carriers.

Carrier Availability

High-demand seasons may require 1-2 weeks to secure carriers for Florida-Missouri routes. Off-season shipping typically offers quicker carrier assignment within 2-5 days, providing more scheduling flexibility and competitive pricing.

Open vs Enclosed

Open transport costs significantly less for Florida-Missouri shipping and works well for most vehicles. Enclosed transport protects luxury cars from weather but costs 40-60% more than open carriers.

Population Density

Major Florida cities like Miami or Tampa and Missouri metros like Kansas City offer competitive rates. Rural pickup or delivery locations may incur additional fees due to limited carrier access.

TIPS & TRICKS

Tips & Tricks for Saving on Vehicle Shipping

Off Season Savings

Ship your car during off-peak months to save money. Avoid busy snowbird season when rates spike. Even shifting your shipment by a few weeks can reduce costs significantly.

Flexible Pickup & Delivery

Choose flexible pickup and delivery windows to lower shipping costs. Offering carriers a five-day window for both pickup and delivery gives them scheduling freedom, resulting in better rates for you.

Hub City Advantages

Select pickup and delivery locations near major highways in Florida and Missouri. Highway-accessible cities offer more carrier options and competitive pricing compared to remote rural areas with limited access.

Open Trailers

Open trailers cost less than enclosed options for standard vehicles. Reserve enclosed trailers for luxury or classic cars needing extra protection. Most everyday cars ship safely on open trailers.

HOW IT WORKS

How does Car Shipping from Florida to Missouri Work?

Picturesque view of Missouri

Car shipping from Florida to Missouri covers approximately 1,165 miles and typically takes 1-4 days for delivery. This popular auto transport route connects the Southeast to the Midwest, with carriers regularly traveling between major cities like Miami, Tampa, Jacksonville, St. Louis, Kansas City, and Springfield. The process begins when you request a quote from Sherpa Auto Transport and book your Florida to Missouri car shipping service.

The first step involves scheduling pickup at your preferred Florida location. Our professional drivers will inspect your vehicle and load it onto either an open or enclosed carrier. Open transport is the most common and cost-effective option for this route, with prices typically ranging from $700-$1375 depending on your specific pickup and delivery locations, vehicle size, and seasonal demand.

During transit, your vehicle travels north through Georgia, Tennessee, and into Missouri via major interstate highways. Weather considerations are important for Florida to Missouri auto transport, especially during winter months when ice and snow can affect northern portions of the route. Summer hurricane season in Florida may also impact scheduling, so planning ahead is recommended.

Upon arrival in Missouri, you’ll receive advance notice for delivery scheduling. Our driver will unload your vehicle and conduct a final inspection with you present. The entire car shipping process is tracked and insured, giving you peace of mind throughout your Florida to Missouri transport. Door-to-door service is available in most areas, though some rural locations may require terminal pickup for large carriers.

INSIGHTS & REGULATIONS

Florida to Missouri Car Transport: State Insights and Regulations

Auto transport truck carrying vehicles

When planning Florida to Missouri car shipping, understanding the regulatory differences between states helps ensure a smooth transition. Missouri requires new residents to register their vehicles within 30 days of establishing residency, compared to Florida’s 10-day requirement. The registration process in Missouri involves presenting your Florida title, proof of insurance, and passing a safety inspection at an authorized station.

Vehicle regulations differ significantly between these states. Missouri mandates annual safety inspections for most vehicles, while Florida has no such requirement. Window tinting laws are more restrictive in Missouri, allowing only 35% light transmission on front side windows versus Florida’s more lenient standards. Missouri also prohibits certain vehicle modifications that Florida permits, including specific frame height alterations and certain lighting configurations.

Auto transport customers moving from Florida should prepare their vehicles for Missouri’s harsh winters. Consider investing in winter tires, emergency kits, and engine block heaters before or immediately after your car shipping arrival. Missouri’s freeze-thaw cycles can damage vehicles not accustomed to temperature extremes, making winterization essential for Florida vehicles.

Insurance considerations vary notably between states. Missouri requires higher minimum liability coverage than Florida and follows traditional tort insurance laws, unlike Florida’s no-fault system. This means Missouri drivers can sue for damages after accidents, potentially affecting premium costs. Contact your insurance provider before your Florida to Missouri car shipping to understand coverage changes and ensure compliance with Missouri’s requirements. Many insurers offer discounts for safety features that weren’t relevant in Florida’s milder climate, such as anti-lock brakes and traction control systems that prove valuable during Missouri winters.

If you need faster service, we can often accommodate rush shipments with 3-7 days notice, though this may cost more. The key is to book as soon as you know your moving timeline.

Yes. It is important that you, or another adult that you trust, is there for pickup and delivery of your vehicle. This designated person plays an important role in the shipping process including documenting the state of the vehicle and signing the Bill of Lading, which acts as a receipt of the vehicle’s condition.

Open transport uses uncovered trailers that carry 8-10 cars at once. Your car is exposed to weather and road debris, but it’s the most affordable option used for 90% of shipments from Florida to Missouri.

Enclosed transport protects your vehicle inside a covered trailer with only 2-6 cars. It costs 40-60% more than open transport but shields your car from weather, dust, and road debris during the 1,100-mile journey.

Choose enclosed if you have:

  • Classic or luxury cars worth over $50,000
  • Custom paint jobs or modifications
  • Low-clearance sports cars
  • Antique vehicles

Most standard vehicles ship safely with open transport. The choice depends on your car’s value and your peace of mind. See our complete open vs enclosed guide for detailed comparisons and pricing.
