What our Asheville customers say about Sherpa:
"I had a very smooth experience with Sherpa. I talked to someone on the phone and they made the arrangements and it went without a hitch. We met beside a Walmart because we lived down a gravel road on a one-way street. It was very difficult. I felt they should not even try. I got a phone call. I met the gentleman with the trailer and we loaded it all and it was done and gone and delivered to the new location. It went just like they said it would go. The gentleman that picked it up did a good job. We both did pick up, and then my daughter accepted it for us in Asheville and she said it went fine."
"Forgot the others like Montway with their bait and switch. Sherpa may present as costing more, but they will actually get the job done. Montway who quoted a price and when they never arrived one day before I was leaving town, I called them and they said, "Oh, you didn`t have a guaranteed date or price." I was like what!!! Called Sherpa and they arrived the next day. Do it the right way the first time out, call Sherpa."
"I had a new car transported from NJ to Asheville, NC. The process went very well and I was pleased with the customer service, price, and delivery time (less than a week to get the car). The only minor problem was that I didn`t get a timely call from the driver, and he ended up showing up at my house - lucky I was home!"

Factors that affect Asheville Car Shipping Prices
- Distance: The distance between Asheville and your destination greatly affects shipping costs. Longer distances typically mean higher prices. For example, shipping from Asheville to Miami will cost less than shipping to Los Angeles.
- Transport Type: Open trailers are the most common and cost-effective option for most customers. Enclosed carriers offer extra protection but cost about 50% more and may take longer. They're ideal for high-value or classic cars that need shielding from Asheville's occasional harsh weather.
- Location Accessibility: Asheville's mountainous terrain can affect pickup and delivery ease. Urban areas near I-40 or I-26 are typically cheaper than remote, hilly locations. Consider meeting the carrier in a more accessible area to potentially reduce costs.
- Scheduling Flexibility: Opting for a wider pickup window (like 5 business days) is usually cheaper. If you need a rushed pickup in Asheville, expect to pay more for the convenience.
- Vehicle Specifications: Larger, heavier vehicles cost more to ship. Also, cars with low ground clearance may require special handling, increasing the price.
- Vehicle Condition: Non-running cars are pricier to ship as they need special equipment for loading. Ensure your vehicle is in working order to keep costs down.
- Seasonal Factors: Asheville's mild summers make it a popular moving destination, potentially increasing prices during these months. Winter weather in the surrounding mountains can also affect shipping rates and times.

Tips & Tricks for Saving on Vehicle Shipping
- Book early: Schedule your shipment at least two weeks in advance. This allows carriers to optimize routes and potentially offer discounts for bundling multiple vehicles from Asheville.
- Choose open transport: Open shipping provides the lowest rates and greatest flexibility for negotiating prices. While enclosed carriers are necessary for some vehicles, open transport is usually the most cost-effective option.
- Select strategic locations: Discuss pickup and drop-off points with Sherpa advisors to find locations near major interstates like I-40 or I-26. This can significantly reduce fuel costs for carriers, potentially lowering your overall price.
- Empty your vehicle: Remove all personal items from your car before shipping. This reduces weight and eliminates concerns about item safety during transport.
- Be flexible with dates: The more adaptable you are with pickup and delivery timeframes, the better options you'll have. This flexibility can lead to cost savings as carriers can more easily incorporate your vehicle into their existing routes.
- Consider seasonal timing: Asheville's popular tourist seasons, particularly fall foliage and summer months, can affect transport prices. If possible, schedule your shipment during off-peak times for potential savings.
