“I went with Sherpa strictly based on reviews and was not disappointed. Customer service was great through the entire process. The original quoted price never changed, but it was nice to know that they would have stood behind it if the final price increased once booked on a transport. The pick up and drop off windows were met with no issues which was nice for a cross country shipment to Corvallis.”
“Excellent service, delivery was fast. At first I thought buying a car 1600 miles away was a crazy idea but it turned out smooth and easy – plus I got exactly what I wanted. Sherpa kept me informed the whole time the car was is transport, an excellent interface to the transport guys who also did a proper job. The price was well spent shipping to Corvallis.”
“I called on a few different occasions because I was in the fence about shipping my e-car (Chevy Bolt) from my home in Oregon to my family in Texas. When I finally confirmed the shipment, everything worked out as promised. The driver’s company was communicative and friendly. Car arrived in Texas with no issues. Happy customer and a great experience.”

When choosing an auto transport company, it is crucial to select the best car shipping company by considering factors such as reliability, customer satisfaction, and transparency in pricing.
Factors that affect Corvallis Car Shipping Prices
- Distance: The length of the journey from or to Corvallis, OR significantly impacts car shipping costs. Longer distances generally mean higher prices, but per-mile rates often decrease for longer trips.
- Transport Type: Open trailers are the most common and cost-effective option for car shipping to or from Corvallis. Enclosed transport, while about 50% more expensive, offers extra protection from Oregon’s varied weather conditions, including rain and occasional snow.
- Location Accessibility: Corvallis’s proximity to major routes like Highway 99W and Interstate 5 can help keep costs down. However, more remote areas in Oregon may incur additional fees.
- Seasonal Factors: Corvallis experiences mild winters and dry summers. However, car shipping demand can spike during the start of Oregon State University’s academic terms, potentially affecting prices.
- Vehicle Size and Weight: Larger or heavier vehicles, like SUVs or trucks, typically cost more to ship than smaller cars due to the space they occupy on the carrier.
- Timeframe: Flexible pickup and delivery dates often result in lower car shipping costs. Rush services to or from Corvallis will likely increase the price.
- Vehicle Condition: Operable vehicles are easier and cheaper to transport. Non-running cars require special equipment, increasing the cost of auto transport to or from Corvallis.

Tips & Tricks for Saving on Vehicle Shipping
- Book early: Schedule your Corvallis car shipping at least two weeks in advance. This allows carriers to optimize routes and potentially offer discounts for bundled pickups along I-5 or Highway 99W.
- Choose open transport: Opt for open car shipping to get the lowest rates and most flexibility when transporting your vehicle to or from Corvallis, OR.
- Strategic pickup/dropoff: Consult with Sherpa Auto Transport advisors to find locations near major routes like I-5 or Highway 20. The Corvallis Municipal Airport area or nearby Albany might offer convenient options.
- Empty your vehicle: Remove personal items to reduce weight and avoid potential liability issues during auto transport.
- Be flexible: Offer a range of dates for pickup and delivery. Consider locations slightly outside Corvallis, such as Salem or Eugene, which might provide more competitive car shipping rates due to their proximity to major highways.
- Consider seasonal timing: If possible, schedule your car transport outside of Oregon State University’s peak moving periods to potentially secure better rates and availability.

Corvallis, Oregon Vehicle Transport FAQs
How do I prepare my vehicle for transit to or from Corvallis?
See our Vehicle Shipping Tips for details about how to prepare your vehicle to / from Corvallis. In short, you’ll want to remove any toll pass or fragile items, make sure you have a key available to provide the carrier, and remove any interior and exterior accessories that could be damaged in transit.
Is my vehicle insured transporting to or from Corvallis?
Yes, our quotes are all-inclusive. All of our carriers are required to have a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability insurance and $100,000 in cargo insurance. To ship your vehicle, we verify that the carrier’s insurance policy is valid and in good standing for the duration of your shipment.
All contracted carriers also add Sherpa as a Certificate Holder on their insurance policy.
How far out should I schedule my pickup service from Corvallis?
The sooner, the better. We recommend at least two weeks, but it’s ideal to post your shipment as soon as possible so that carriers can bundle your shipment with others in the same location.
How do I pay for my auto transport to Corvallis?
No payment is due at the time of booking. We do require a payment method on file so that it is available to charge once a carrier is secured. We accept all major debit and credit cards, including Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express. The most convenient option is to pay for your shipment in full by credit card at the time a carrier is secured.
We also allow you to pay for your Initial Payment via credit or debit card and then pay the outstanding balance on delivery day via cash or a certified check made out to the carrier.
Can I pack personal items inside my vehicle?
Your Sherpa shipment includes up to 100 lbs of personal items or household goods stored in the trunk area or secured below the window line. Do I need to be present at both pickup and delivery?
Yes. It is important that you, or another adult that you trust, is there for pickup and delivery of your vehicle. This designated person plays an important role in the shipping process including documenting the state of the vehicle and signing the Bill of Lading, which acts as a receipt of the vehicle’s condition.
What’s the difference between Open vs Enclosed Auto Transport?
Enclosed transport is at least 50% higher than open trailers. The primary reason for choosing enclosed auto transport is when you have a high value vehicle like a classic car or a custom paint job that can’t afford the risk of wayward debris on the road. See our open vs enclosed auto transport guide for more details.
Do you offer Door-To-Door Auto Transport Service?
Door-to-door auto transport service is the epitome of convenience in vehicle shipping. At the time of booking your shipment, we will ask for your preferred pickup and delivery address. As long as it is possible, the assigned carrier will pick up and deliver your vehicle to the addresses you specify. Of course, if there are transportation restrictions or safety challenges the carrier will work with you to arrange an alternative location, such as a nearby gas station or parking lot.
How are you different from other Car Shipping Companies?
Many Auto Transport companies try to tease customers with lower rates, only to surprise you with “hidden costs” later. At Sherpa Auto Transport, we do things differently. We provide one locked-in price upfront and stick to it. If unexpected costs arise, we pay them out of our own pocket. While we may not always be the cheapest option at first glance, our commitment to transparency and reliability offers exceptional value. As a premium service, we ensure an stress-free experience from start to finish.
What types of vehicles can you transport?
We transport sedans, SUVs, pickup trucks, vans and motorcycles across the nation, including service to Alaska and Hawaii. At this time, we do not service boats, golf carts, ATVs, or RVs. We can ship both operable and inoperable vehicles so long as the vehicle can roll, brake, and steer, and that you can provide the carrier with a key to the vehicle. We can also ship electric vehicles.

When planning car shipping to or from Corvallis, OR, it’s crucial to consider the seasonal weather patterns that can impact your auto transport experience. Corvallis experiences a Mediterranean climate with distinct seasons, each presenting unique challenges for car shipping services.
In winter, Corvallis sees frequent rainfall and occasional snow. While snow accumulation is typically light, it’s essential to:
- Avoid scheduling pickups or drop-offs on steep inclines, as carriers need stable surfaces.

- Be prepared for potential delays due to increased demand for car transport services during peak vacation months.

Navigating Campus Parking in Corvallis
When shipping your car to Corvallis for college, understanding parking regulations is crucial. Oregon State University requires students to purchase parking permits, which can be done online. On-campus parking is limited, so plan ahead! Most off-campus apartments offer parking, but always double-check before signing a lease. For winter breaks, OSU provides long-term storage options, perfect if you’re heading home and need a safe spot for your vehicle. Remember: Corvallis winters can be wet, so ensure your car is equipped with good all-season tires. Before your auto transport to Corvallis, verify that your roadside assistance coverage extends to Oregon. Lastly, if you’re living on campus without immediate need for a car, consider delaying your car shipping until you’re settled and familiar with the area. This approach can save you money and hassle in the long run!
Reviews from our Oregon Customers
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, as evidenced by our 4.9 rating with over 8,000 reviews. Here are a few more reviews from satisfied Oregon customers:
“I`ve had experiences with really shady characters `cause I moved from Oregon to Texas two years ago, and I was ripped off the first time for a couple of $1,000. I couldn`t believe how many dishonest people there are in the middle of that. They don`t want an inventory from you because if you give them an inventory then that`s everything that you wanted and they can`t give you this sham of, “Oh, we didn`t know you wanted to move that too.” I had a 1,500 piece inventory with dimensions for everything, and they didn`t want to see it. It was a very difficult experience. I heard it was the same thing with transporting cars, so I was very careful. I went to the Better Business Bureau website and the only company I was gonna use was the one that had an A rating. Sherpa was one of the several companies that were recommended on the site. I called five people, and Sherpa had the most congenial salesman. He also made me a guarantee right up front that it was gonna cost me a certain amount of money. They had to use their commission to pay for the driver `cause they couldn`t find somebody at the price they gave me. Sherpa was really awesome. Plus, they were very efficient. Every phase of the operation was documented and they sent me an email or a text on every phase. They also got me in touch with the driver and he made me aware of everything that was taking place at the pickup, the delivery and his transit. They were very professional. I was buying a car from a relative, and that relative took pictures of the truck. The driver also took pictures, and he delivered the truck as well as the pictures. I had two sets of pictures and the car was perfect. Everything was great, and I couldn`t ask for any better. I wrote a review for Sherpa`s website, and another one for the Better Business Bureau website also.”
“We’re from Arlington, Texas and our son is in the Coast Guard. We had to ship a Honda CR-V to him in Oregon. It was a personal vehicle. We looked at three transport companies and ended up with Sherpa. I was able to check out their office in Tennessee. There was actually a physical location. The company also had good recommendations and things with the Better Business Bureau. I mostly communicated with them by email and I had one phone call. Customer service handled everything great and I was very pleased. They gave me a good quote and I felt pretty confident with them. Their quote seemed to be a little bit higher compared to the other companies that I went with, but I felt I was gonna get a better situation. The quote was very accurate compared to the other ones. The transport was 1,500 miles and it took about four days to get to Oregon. It was quicker than they said it was gonna be. They brought the car right to where my son lives. They were just right down the street from his apartment. The driver that picked up the car was a little personable and he did a good job with the car overhead. He looked the car over and made sure there wasn`t anything wrong with it. He was a very nice young man. My son said the car was a little bit dirty from being on the road for that long. Otherwise, it was great. I got a really good service for the price that I paid. It was really fair. I would highly recommend Sherpa. They did a great job. They followed through with everything they said they were gonna do in a timely manner.”
“I went through a lot of auto moving companies online trying to verify and make sure that they were affiliated with the Better Business Bureau. I found some. I had a lot of emails and phone calls for a long time after I made my selection. My selection was not based on price, but I based it on the fact that the company was very qualified to do the move for me. It was a big deal because it was a special car to me. I opted to go with Sherpa. The fact that Sherpa paid to be with ConsumerAffairs was part of the selling for me. I had one gentleman who said, “We don`t need them.” They didn`t need the rating. I told him that just for his attitude, I was not gonna choose their company and thanked him for his time. It was a simple yes or no question on whether they were rated. He didn`t need to bash them. Sherpa did a great job. They sent videos of the car as did I before it left my home. They came right to my house, picked up the car in my neighborhood, and shipped it all the way to Oregon from Indiana. Everything was on time and the car was in great shape. My 23-year old son was very impressed with the whole process and he took care of it there on that end. I would recommend Sherpa if I were asked. It was about $300 more than some of the other ones. But a lot of times, companies just call drivers and I just didn`t want anybody. I wanted somebody that consistently transported with the company.”
“I was impressed with Sylvia from Sherpa, especially the way that she dealt with the business of getting the car transported. There were also several follow-up calls with other employees and gentlemen that would be calling me or giving me information. The guy picked it up at 11:00 AM on the 9th, and then they headed north. Then they had a three to five-day window. It turned out that the Sherpa transport was an enclosed trailer, not a truck cargo trailer. At that time, there were 12 feet of snow over at Tahoe on the ground. He got up to the border of Oregon and Washington, and that was the only path that he had to go through, and they had closed the paths. When they reopened the path, he had a three-wheeled trailer and a very nice tow truck but he had to have chains on the trailer but he didn`t have chains. He was held up for at least 24 to 36 hours before he got through that. Then he delivered it at 9 o`clock at night. I live rurally and there are no street lights out there. The driver was a young guy and he was exceptional. He parked in the road, which nobody came by and he got it off the trailer, and then I pulled it into my garage. It arrived perfectly, in condition.”
“I live in Oregon and my son was going back to school in Pennsylvania. We were shipping his car, so he`d have his car while he was there. The quote was exactly the same and it wasn`t cheap. I know there are places that will do it for cheaper, but it`s worth it for everybody to have insurance and be bonded and not just look up somebody on Craigslist saying, “I`ll drive your car 3,000 miles.†People are very concerned about shipping their car, in our case, 3,000 miles away and then if anything had gone wrong, my son would have been on his own trying to figure it out. My whole experience was very positive. The Sherpa drivers sounded wonderful and they were so prompt. We live across from a convenience store with a big parking lot and our street`s not narrow, but there`s a lot of cars. When the guy came to pick up my son`s car, we met him across the street so that he could load it. He then did the review, checked it out, and gave me the pink sheet. When the car was delivered, my son said the driver called him and asked him if he can meet them at the closest Home Depot, which wasn`t that far. He Ubered over there and it wasn`t a big deal. He was there waiting when the guy came.”

What is Car Shipping?
Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in Corvallis, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of Oregon. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.
