What our Bethlehem customers say about Sherpa:
“The transport called my wife 24 hours before and they also told her that they could deliver it a couple of days early. Then the driver was there when he said he was gonna be and he even pulled the car into my garage for my wife. He was very nice and totally professional. And the equipment they were driving looked really nice too. The transport took four days and it exceeded my expectations. They did a really good job.”
“The transport was about 2,000 miles from Pennsylvania to Arizona and it took right about three days. We met the driver at the specified location. We had a little misunderstanding because we were meeting behind the giant supermarket on Atherton. It turns out that this Atherton is a main street and State College and there’s this giant end, both ends of it.”
“My Sherpa experience was wonderful! I purchased a used car from out of state and needed to find reasonable and reliable transport. Sherpa’s quote was lower than several others, AND the customer service and communication were great throughout. My car was assigned a hauler within a couple of days, and the car was here the next day after pickup (Illinois to Pennsylvania).”

Note: These figures are based on Sherpa’s actual data from the past 12 months of vehicle shipments to or from Bethlehem, PA. When choosing an auto transport company, it is crucial to select the best car shipping company by considering factors such as reliability, customer satisfaction, and transparency in pricing.
Factors that affect Bethlehem Car Shipping Prices
- Distance: The length of the journey significantly impacts car shipping costs to or from Bethlehem, PA. Longer distances generally mean higher prices, but per-mile rates often decrease for longer trips.
- Vehicle Size: Larger or heavier vehicles, such as SUVs or trucks, typically cost more to ship than smaller cars due to the space they occupy on the carrier.
- Transport Type: Open transport is the most common and affordable option for car shipping to Bethlehem. Enclosed transport, while pricier, offers extra protection from weather and road debris, which can be beneficial during Pennsylvania’s snowy winters.
- Season: Auto transport rates to Bethlehem may fluctuate seasonally. Summer months and January often see higher prices due to increased demand. Winter weather in Bethlehem can also affect shipping times and costs.
- Route: Bethlehem’s proximity to major highways like I-78 and Route 22 can make it more accessible for carriers, potentially lowering costs. However, shipping to or from less accessible areas may increase prices.
- Timing: Flexible pickup and delivery dates often result in lower car shipping costs. Rush or guaranteed delivery services to Bethlehem will typically be more expensive.
- Vehicle Condition: Operable vehicles are easier and cheaper to transport. Inoperable cars may require special equipment, increasing the cost of shipping to or from Bethlehem.
Understanding these factors can help you estimate your car shipping costs more accurately. For a detailed breakdown of pricing factors, check out our car shipping calculator guide. Bethlehem, Pennsylvania Vehicle Transport FAQs
How do I prepare my vehicle for transit to or from Bethlehem?

In short, you’ll want to remove any toll pass or fragile items, make sure you have a key available to provide the carrier, and remove any interior and exterior accessories that could be damaged in transit.
Is my vehicle insured transporting to or from Bethlehem?
Yes, our quotes are all-inclusive. All of our carriers are required to have a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability insurance and $100,000 in cargo insurance. To ship your vehicle, we verify that the carrier’s insurance policy is valid and in good standing for the duration of your shipment.
All contracted carriers also add Sherpa as a Certificate Holder on their insurance policy.
How far out should I schedule my pickup service from Bethlehem?
The sooner, the better. We recommend at least two weeks, but it’s ideal to post your shipment as soon as possible so that carriers can bundle your shipment with others in the same location.
How do I pay for my auto transport to Bethlehem?
No payment is due at the time of booking. We do require a payment method on file so that it is available to charge once a carrier is secured. We accept all major debit and credit cards, including Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express. The most convenient option is to pay for your shipment in full by credit card at the time a carrier is secured.
We also allow you to pay for your Initial Payment via credit or debit card and then pay the outstanding balance on delivery day via cash or a certified check made out to the carrier.

Yes. It is important that you, or another adult that you trust, is there for pickup and delivery of your vehicle. What’s the difference between Open vs Enclosed Auto Transport?
Enclosed transport is at least 50% higher than open trailers. Of course, if there are transportation restrictions or safety challenges the carrier will work with you to arrange an alternative location, such as a nearby gas station or parking lot.
How are you different from other Car Shipping Companies?

We provide one locked-in price upfront and stick to it. If unexpected costs arise, we pay them out of our own pocket. While we may not always be the cheapest option at first glance, our commitment to transparency and reliability offers exceptional value. What types of vehicles can you transport?
We transport sedans, SUVs, pickup trucks, vans and motorcycles across the nation, including service to Alaska and Hawaii. At this time, we do not service boats, golf carts, ATVs, or RVs. We can ship both operable and inoperable vehicles so long as the vehicle can roll, brake, and steer, and that you can provide the carrier with a key to the vehicle. Seasonal Guide to Ship a Car in Bethlehem
When planning car shipping to or from Bethlehem, PA, it’s crucial to consider the seasonal weather patterns that can impact your auto transport experience. Bethlehem experiences all four seasons, each bringing unique challenges for car shipping services.
In winter, Bethlehem often sees significant snowfall and icy conditions. If you’re scheduling car transport during this time:
- Avoid using snow tire chains, as carriers can’t transport vehicles with them.
- Ensure pickup and drop-off locations are on level ground to prevent slipping in icy conditions.
- Remove any items from your car that could freeze and potentially damage the interior.
Spring and fall in Bethlehem are generally mild, making them ideal seasons for shipping a car. However, be prepared for occasional rain showers that could delay transport.
During the summer, temperatures can rise significantly. When using car shipping services in warmer months:
- Place a sunshade under your windshield to protect the interior from heat damage.
- Remove any heat-sensitive items from your vehicle before transport.
Beyond weather considerations, Bethlehem car shipping can be impacted by local events and patterns. As home to several colleges, including Lehigh University, auto transport demand typically spikes at the beginning and end of academic semesters. To avoid higher rates and longer wait times, consider scheduling your car transport a few weeks before or after these peak periods.
By keeping these seasonal factors in mind, you can ensure a smoother, more efficient car shipping experience to or from Bethlehem, PA. Always consult with your chosen car shipping company for the most up-to-date advice on transporting your vehicle safely and efficiently.
Car Shipping for College Students in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania
When considering car shipping to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania for college, it’s crucial to understand parking regulations at local universities. Lehigh University requires students to register their vehicles and purchase parking permits. On-campus parking is limited, so plan ahead. Moravian University also mandates parking passes, with designated lots for residents and commuters. Most off-campus apartments offer parking, but always confirm beforehand. For winter breaks, both universities provide long-term parking options, but spaces are limited. Remember, Bethlehem experiences snowy winters, so snow tires are highly recommended. Before shipping your car, verify that your insurance and roadside assistance coverage extends to Pennsylvania. If you’re using auto transport services to bring your car to Bethlehem, coordinate with your car shipping company to ensure a smooth delivery, especially during busy move-in periods. Planning ahead for these factors will make your transition to college life in Bethlehem much easier.
Reviews from our Pennsylvania Customers
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, as evidenced by our 4.9 rating with over 8,000 reviews. Here are a few more reviews from satisfied Pennsylvania customers:
“Sherpa was absolutely phenomenal. I was doing the auto transport for my sister-in-law who was moving from Colorado to Pennsylvania. She`s wasn`t in the best frame of mind, so we did all of the work to get Sherpa to do this. We made the phone call in November and the car was being picked up in December. Sherpa managed to find somebody who was going to pick up the car, and they were all set up and ready to get there in December. They were booked, but that night, my sister-in-law called and said that she was getting overwhelmed and we needed to cancel. So, we cancelled, paid the cancellation fee, and it was no big deal. The following day, my sister-in-law changed her mind and we re-upped the contract. However, there was a computer glitch in the system and it didn`t back the previous company out of the contract with us, so when we re-upped, we then had two active contracts. Two companies were gonna show up at different days to try to take our car. Sherpa had no idea because the company was the one who needed to know that they were no longer supposed to be coming, and they somehow were never notified. The company showed up and got the car, but it was on a totally different day than we were told they would be coming because it was the original date. Sherpa did all of the leg work. They contacted the people and met with the driver to make sure it was legit. They also refunded the cancellation fee because technically, we got the first contract. They called us every step of the way. They went above and beyond even though the mistake was caused by us cancelling.”
“It was easy setting up the transport, but the time that was given was delayed a couple of times because the driver got delayed in traffic. But it was the same day. After I had this car in Florida, I like it so much that I had to bring it back to Philadelphia for the summer season. So, I contacted Sherpa because they had done a good job bringing the car down to Florida back at the end of December of 2022. I gave them a window and they said the driver would contact me a day ahead of time. I was leaving for the airport at 10:30 and I told the driver that we could meet by then, but he said he could not. So, I had made arrangements to leave the car, and he picked it up at around noon that day, about two hours after I had left. The quote that they gave me was a little bit high, but they did quality work. The interesting thing is that when my car was dropped off in Pennsylvania, the driver had one other car on the truck and it was for my neighbor that was four doors away. He and I compared notes, and the quote he paid was $200 less than I paid. He is actually on the east coast of Florida and I`m on the west coast of Florida. So, he`s a straight shot up 95, similar miles, but he could be a few miles shorter and a little bit easier trip. But that was interesting.”
“The people from Sherpa acted very professionally, and explained everything in detail that I had questions about, the whole process of how the car is picked up and how it`s transported. They gave me a quote, they followed up with an email of the quote, and there was no pressure at all. The vehicle went from Pennsylvania to California and they gave me a window of time. They said it was either gonna be picked up on a Wednesday night or Thursday morning. Due to heavy traffic in Washington, D. C., they couldn`t make it on Wednesday night, but they made it first thing on Thursday morning. The driver got out and checked the car over. We signed the paperwork with damages, dents or scrapes. Then he loaded the car on the truck and off he went. It was delivered earlier than expected, which wasn`t a problem at all. We thought it was going to be delivered sometime in the middle of the next week, but they got there in like three days. So, the drop-off was very easy and quick. There was no problems with the car when it arrived there.”
“I set this transfer up for a friend who was moving back to Pennsylvania from Florida. The Sherpa agent was amazing in that he was reassuring and very knowledgeable. He notified us when the transport company was contracted and for the price agreed upon and again when the driver was on his way and approximately when he would arrive. He also called us when the driver was outside of our community for us to meet him with the car. The company driver was equally amazing in the care he took examining the car and placing it on the truck transport. The car arrived on time and in the same condition as it was at pickup. There is no question – SHERPA IS THE WAY TO GO!!!”
“Smooth experience from getting a quote online to car delivery! Reservation was very easy to schedule, Sherpa representative was great at communicating and explaining the process. They were transparent about the cost breakdown (which was a competitive, fair price). Didn’t have any issues with the price going up once they confirmed a driver (as I had read doing research about car transport companies, Sherpa actually guarantees the price). The driver, Nick, was very nice and professional – kept me in the loop from pick up to drop off times and locations! He took great care of my car (I was also able to load up to 100lbs of additional items)! Overall perfect experience, thank you!”

What is Car Shipping?
Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in Bethlehem, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of Pennsylvania. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.
