What our Edmonds customers say about Sherpa:
“We researched the various companies and found that Sherpa Auto was considered one of the top 5 auto brokers/shippers in the country. As a broker, they require the shippers to carry $1M in insurance, which means they are invested in the process. Their shipping cost was mid-range of the other top auto shippers/brokers and they very clearly explained the shipping/bidding process. The shipper that accepted the contract was Comic Transportation based in Federal Way, Washington.”
“Fantastic service. Got my car shipped without a scratch from Washington state to New Jersey in under a week. No unpredictable fees, everyone was very courteous, no high pressure sales. Price is a little higher but the peace of mind was worth it. Only complaints were that the contractor picking up the car didn`t give me that much notice, I had to call them directly to find out they were picking the car up the next day – but they did respond immediately, which is more than I`ve heard you can say about other companies.”
“I rarely leave reviews for things, but I wanted to for Sherpa because it was my first time shipping a vehicle and I chose Sherpa as my broker, and everything went great! They chose West Coast Auto Transport as my carrier (which they assigned very quickly) for shipping my car from WA State to Maryland, and their drivers were so kind and professional. They picked up my car on the first day of the pickup window, and despite a delay in delivery, the carrier gave me an update and the driver for delivery was very communicative about arrival and it truly was door-to-door service!”

Factors that affect Edmonds Car Shipping Prices
- Distance: The length of the journey from or to Edmonds, WA significantly impacts car shipping costs. Longer distances generally mean higher prices, as fuel and labor costs increase.
- Transport Type: Open carriers are the most common and cost-effective option for car shipping to or from Edmonds. Enclosed transport, while about 50% pricier and often slower, offers extra protection from Edmonds’ frequent rain and potential road debris.
- Vehicle Size: Larger or heavier vehicles, such as SUVs or trucks, cost more to ship than compact cars due to the space they occupy on the carrier.
- Pickup and Delivery Locations: Edmonds’ proximity to Seattle and major highways like I-5 can help keep costs down. However, if you’re shipping to or from more remote areas, expect higher prices.
- Seasonal Factors: Car shipping rates to and from Edmonds may fluctuate with the seasons. Summer months and January typically see higher demand and prices.
- Flexibility: Opting for Sherpa’s five-day pickup window can lead to more competitive rates compared to expedited shipping options.
- Vehicle Condition: Operable vehicles that can roll, brake, and steer are cheaper to transport than inoperable ones requiring special equipment.
Understanding these factors can help you make informed decisions when shipping your car to or from Edmonds, WA. In short, you’ll want to remove any toll pass or fragile items, make sure you have a key available to provide the carrier, and remove any interior and exterior accessories that could be damaged in transit.
Is my vehicle insured transporting to or from Edmonds?
Yes, our quotes are all-inclusive. All of our carriers are required to have a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability insurance and $100,000 in cargo insurance. To ship your vehicle, we verify that the carrier’s insurance policy is valid and in good standing for the duration of your shipment.
All contracted carriers also add Sherpa as a Certificate Holder on their insurance policy.
How far out should I schedule my pickup service from Edmonds?
The sooner, the better. We recommend at least two weeks, but it’s ideal to post your shipment as soon as possible so that carriers can bundle your shipment with others in the same location.
How do I pay for my auto transport to Edmonds?
No payment is due at the time of booking. We do require a payment method on file so that it is available to charge once a carrier is secured. We accept all major debit and credit cards, including Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express. Of course, if there are transportation restrictions or safety challenges the carrier will work with you to arrange an alternative location, such as a nearby gas station or parking lot.

We provide one locked-in price upfront and stick to it. If unexpected costs arise, we pay them out of our own pocket. While we may not always be the cheapest option at first glance, our commitment to transparency and reliability offers exceptional value. Reviews from our Washington Customers
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, as evidenced by our 4.9 rating with over 8,000 reviews. Here are a few more reviews from satisfied Washington customers:
“It was an easy process from start to end, from the time I picked up the phone and I called the customer service person. She was super helpful and gave me the ins and the outs about car transporting because I had no idea what that looked like. So, she gave me how it would go, and it went according to plan. Sherpa Auto Transport gave me a six-day window to pick the car up, and the dealership where I bought the car in Philadelphia said the car was picked up on a Wednesday afternoon. I got pictures of the car being loaded. It was an 80-foot enclosed transporter. It went seamless from what I heard from the dealership. I got a call from the driver who had the car on his transporter when he got here on early Monday morning when I went to pick up the car. I live in a residential area of Seattle and I said, “I will come to you.” I went over to Bellevue, Washington to pick it up, which is 20 minutes away. He had six or seven cars already out. And it was easier. So, it saved him the heartache of driving around this residential area. He was a super nice guy. The window they gave me was a week, plus to pick the car up, and it would take a week to get here, even 10 days possibly. They exceeded that by a long shot.”
“Our overall experience with Sherpa was largely positive. They were very responsive to our questions and concerns about our auto transport from Southern California to the PNW. Keep in mind, they are ” the middle man” in the transport process. They find the “carrier” company for you. In our case, it was Diesel Auto Express Nationwide Auto Transport. We had our pick up time delayed four times, which was super frustrating. We almost went with another carrier but Sherpa could not find another one, so we roughed it out waiting .Eventually, the car made it up to their yards in Vancouver, Washington to ultimately be transported (final leg of the trip)to our city. My only beef is that the driver delivered the car at a very early morning time of 4:30 a.m. Too early. Car was fine. No damage, no other issues.”
“My father was getting rid of his truck and offered it to me. We needed to ship it from Texas up Washington where I live, and Sherpa was the cheapest way to do it. I called them directly and the rep, Tiffany, explained that sometimes when people bid on it, they’re just bidding for one way so the number that you see is one way. She explained that with Sherpa there are no additional fees. She also explained that most of them are brokers. Sherpa seemed the most transparent about their fees or how much the total would be. During the pick-up of the vehicle, my dad received a call and the driver wanted to come at 11:30 at night. He told the driver no so he came the next morning, which worked better for my dad’s schedule. The guy was nice. For the delivery, I received a call then half an hour later, the guy showed up at my door. I live on a pretty wide residential street, but he parked on the major street, brought the car and it was right there.”
“Sherpa was fantastic. They did everything I asked them to do. They were more than professional and got me somebody that I needed right away and eliminated all that extra work for me. They got me a driver on time. They quoted me this price, and it wasn’t any different to the final cost. I called them, they set it up, they called me and kept me posted on what was gonna happen, and when it was gonna happen. They gave me the name and the number of the transport company that they contracted to, and I worked through them at the end, and it worked out perfectly. I’d use them again. I transport a lot of cars all the time and this is the first time I used them.”

What is Car Shipping?
Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in Edmonds, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of Washington. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.
