What our Apache Junction customers say about Sherpa:
“Sherpa was quick to find a carrier to transport our truck. They were local, and they gave me the driver’s information. It worked out really great because his business was not far from my home. We were able to take the vehicle to him, which made it great. The whole process was good. They did have a little malfunction with their vehicle, but they were very great about communicating and it was all totally fine. We ended up with the vehicle. It was a wonderful experience. They communicated well. They were friendly, courteous, and professional on the phone. The driver that they contracted for us communicated when there was an issue, called immediately, and told us what was happening. I’m thankful I found Sherpa because I would’ve been lost without it.”
“I read the Better Business Bureau reports and Sherpa was at the top. I’m a senior, so I looked at a few senior sites and Sherpa was recommended by one of the sites that I looked at. I called them and they were pretty straightforward. They weren’t the lowest price but they had a promised guarantee stating that it would only be a certain price and they guaranteed $300 over. I have a Kia and I was having it transported from Southern Arizona to Sebring, Florida. What Sherpa does is they put the bid out and different transport companies then bid on that.”
“After calling 4 different transport companies, Sherpa was the most expensive – by about $200 before $100 mail-in rebate. However, after looking at all four company`s BBB reviews, Sherpa was the only one who seemed to be dedicated to making customers feel satisfied instead of vilified. After my initial quote, they followed up every day with a phone call and/or email, only one other company followed up with a couple of emails. The transport window I gave them was filled at the earliest date of the window and the delivery was days faster than the delivery window – which could cause some issues, but thankfully didn`t.”

Factors that affect Apache Junction Car Shipping Prices
- Distance: The farther your vehicle needs to travel, the more it will cost to ship. Apache Junction’s location near Phoenix and major highways like US-60 and AZ-88 can help reduce costs for long-distance transport.
- Transport Type: Open car carriers are the most common and cost-effective option for auto transport. Enclosed trailers offer extra protection but are about 50% more expensive and may take longer for pickup and delivery.
- Seasonality: Car shipping prices in Apache Junction can fluctuate with the seasons. Summer months often see higher demand and prices due to snowbirds returning north. Winter can be more affordable, but watch for occasional frost warnings that may affect transport.
- Vehicle Size and Weight: Larger, heavier vehicles cost more to ship. Apache Junction’s dry climate is great for classic cars, but remember that unique or oversized vehicles may require special handling.
- Pickup and Delivery Locations: Urban areas like nearby Phoenix are typically cheaper for car shipping than rural locations. Apache Junction’s proximity to major cities can help keep costs down.
- Timeframe: Flexible pickup and delivery dates often result in lower prices. Rush services for quick auto transport to or from Apache Junction will increase costs.
- Vehicle Condition: Operable vehicles that can be driven onto the carrier are cheaper to ship than inoperable ones requiring special equipment.

Tips & Tricks for Saving on Vehicle Shipping
- Book early: Schedule your Apache Junction car shipping at least two weeks in advance. This allows carriers to optimize routes and potentially offer discounts for bundling multiple vehicles.
- Choose open transport: Open car shipping is generally more affordable than enclosed transport. It offers greater flexibility for negotiating lower rates.
- Strategic pickup/dropoff: Consult with Sherpa Auto Transport advisors to find convenient locations near major highways like US-60 or AZ-88. This can reduce fuel costs and potentially lower your car transport price.
- Lighten your load: Remove personal items from your vehicle before shipping. This reduces weight and eliminates concerns about item safety during transport.
- Stay flexible: Offering date flexibility for pickup and delivery can help you secure better car shipping rates. Consider a range of dates rather than a specific day for your auto transport needs.
- Consider seasonal timing: Apache Junction’s mild winters make it a popular destination. Shipping your car during off-peak seasons may result in more competitive pricing for your auto transport.

What’s the difference between Open vs Enclosed Auto Transport?
Enclosed transport is at least 50% higher than open trailers. We provide one locked-in price upfront and stick to it. If unexpected costs arise, we pay them out of our own pocket. While we may not always be the cheapest option at first glance, our commitment to transparency and reliability offers exceptional value. As a premium service, we ensure an stress-free experience from start to finish.
What types of vehicles can you transport?
We transport sedans, SUVs, pickup trucks, vans and motorcycles across the nation, including service to Alaska and Hawaii. At this time, we do not service boats, golf carts, ATVs, or RVs. Seasonal Guide to Ship a Car in Apache Junction
When planning car shipping to or from Apache Junction, AZ, it’s crucial to consider the unique seasonal factors that can impact your auto transport experience. Apache Junction’s climate is characterized by hot, dry summers and mild winters, which can affect your car shipping process in several ways.
During the scorching summer months (June to September), temperatures in Apache Junction can soar above 100°F. If you’re shipping a car during this time:
- Place a sunshade under your windshield to protect the interior from intense heat.
- Remove any heat-sensitive items from your vehicle to prevent melting or damage.
- Consider scheduling your car transport for early morning or evening to avoid peak heat.
While winters are generally mild, occasional frost can occur between December and February. For winter car shipping services:

- Choose pickup/drop-off locations on level ground to ensure carrier stability.
Apache Junction experiences a peak in car shipping demand during the winter months due to the influx of snowbirds. To avoid potential delays and higher costs when using a car shipping company:
- Book your auto transport well in advance, ideally 2-3 weeks before your desired shipping date.
- Consider scheduling your car transport just before or after the peak snowbird season for potentially lower rates.
- Be flexible with your pickup and delivery dates to accommodate carrier availability.
By keeping these seasonal factors in mind, you can ensure a smooth and efficient car shipping experience to or from Apache Junction, AZ. Always consult with your chosen auto transport specialist for the most up-to-date advice on shipping your vehicle to this beautiful desert city.
Reviews from our Arizona Customers
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, as evidenced by our 4.9 rating with over 8,000 reviews. Here are a few more reviews from satisfied Arizona customers:
“The experience with Sherpa was wonderful. We contacted different auto transport companies. Sherpa answered a bunch of questions I had that other people couldn`t answer. They were competitive in their pricing too. It was less than I thought it was going to be. When you look at the bad reviews of different companies, you always find out that it`s a bait-and-switch price thing. It scares you a little bit. But Sherpa`s price guarantee alleviated a lot of that. Within a half hour of agreeing with Sherpa, they had a driver assigned. The driver called me up the day before. He told me he was likely to make it out the next morning, but there was a chance he would be there that night and asked if that would be a problem. I told him it wouldn`t be. They picked up the car earlier than we had expected. But we were prepared to do it. The driver was pleasant. He was able to communicate and got the car off the truck. The car came three days before it was anticipated. The driver called the day before to let me know and pinpointed a time. Around that time, he called me up and asked if I could meet him at his location which I did. The car came off perfectly. I`m very happy with their services. When you read about these types of companies that are middlemen like Sherpa, it`s a scary process `cause you hear all kinds of horror stories. But Sherpa was able to relax me, calm me down, and had a flawless pick-up and delivery. The group that Sherpa contracted with was a company called Umbrella. Through emails and communications with both Umbrella and Sherpa, I had the driver`s contact information the whole time. I was clearly led through perfectly. They allowed us extra weight in the car, but we didn`t need any of it. I was floored with how well things went, especially when you consider the weather patterns that were going through East Coast and through the Midwest in early January. Instead of taking the north route, they took the south route through Texas and Arizona.”
“Despite the horror stories you can find online I have found that auto shipping is generally reliable if you do your research and don`t go just for price. I have shipped three times now, two times across country and the service was good with the other carrier, Sherpa was excellent. The online process is easy and professional for the industry. The paperwork and disclosures were all straight forward and timely. Everything is straight to email. One slight difference is you pay for shipping in two parts and the second part did not offer a credit card option. The shipper S&N Trucking was A+++ fantastic. I was very happy with his profesionalism and communication through out the job. He navigated far more precisely than I`ve seen before and never kept me waiting. During my shipment a bad weather pattern started across the states causing a 50 car pile up around Arizona. This driver was monitoring weather constantly, and was able to navigate past the accident that stopped our house movers by 3 days. Just an aside, I was extremely stressed and appreciated Will in dispatch patience. I was trying to make a flight and did not anticipate the trouble we would have getting a truck to drive to our small town, but Will did not give up till we found a solution. We were going through a tough time with this move and sustained a big hit when our house movers got into a wreck. I was nervous to ship cars in bad weather already, but then when I couldn`t find a truck I got panicky. I felt safe with the drivers experience immediately and Will finding a solution made a difference. When you work in customer service you never know when a small kindness will make a big impact on a strangers life. Thanks, Shaunna”
“I needed to have my vehicle shipped from Arizona to Maryland. I contacted Sherpa Auto Transport based on the Google reviews. My selection of this company was due to the contact and information provided by their representative Danielle. She explained the process to me answered all my questions. I gave them a pickup date and that was the date my vehicle was picked up. They provided me with an estimate delivery date and my delivery happened before the that estimate date. I was very pleased with the driver who contacted me when he was in the area to let me know the delivery day and time. He kept true to his word in contacting and delivery. Thank you Sherpa for giving me peace of mind in the delivery of my vehicle.”
“Sherpa Auto Transport shipped my car from AZ to DE, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I did extensive research and landed on 4 major transports. Gary at Sherpa explained the entire process and what I can expect before and during shipping to my full liking over the other big 3. Plus their price was competitive, and they offer a price lock. I informed them the available pick up dates, and they found a driver for me within 2-days, the first of my available pickups. Their pickup and delivery windows were also reasonable, 2 hours for both occasions during my experience. Now, if only more companies could have more reasonable windows. Sherpa hooked me up with a driver from Star Group Transport who was friendly and professional and delivered the car 2-days in advance of the initial delivery date. Note delivery dates are not guaranteed, but I was flexible on delivery. Their driver dispatch gave me a 24hour heads up on the delivery date and a delivery time window the following morning, so it worked out perfectly. All in all a great experience.”
“After having a poor experience with another transport company last year, I was very cautious in choosing another. After speaking with reps from several of the top rated, I chose Sherpa. I spoke with Kate M. several times and I explained to her my bad experience and she took the time to explain the process and that all of the companies they use have been vetted. She was very patient and understanding of my situation. She even made sure that the company I used last year was not chosen. I was also sent instructions that Kate went over regarding the inspection and documentation of my vehicle before shipping and upon arrival. Once I accepted Sherpa’s price, everything moved along just as Kate said. I was notified every step of the way and the transport company assigned to me was fantastic. My vehicle arrived on time with no issues. As part of my contract I was also given a $100 rebate along with Sherpa’s Clean Car Guarantee. I highly recommend Sherpa. Everyone I spoke with was very helpful. Paul S. New Hampshire/Arizona“

What is Car Shipping?
Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in Apache Junction, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of Arizona. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.
