What our Cary customers say about Sherpa:
“The transport was much faster than I thought it would be, and the final price was the exact same thing the Sherpa guy quoted me. They didn’t ask for more money. The price was a bit more expensive than what the other company said, but only by 150 bucks. I`ve referred my roommate to move his car with Sherpa. He also had his appointment with another transport company, and they did the same thing to him. He called Sherpa, got his car shipped, and it’s on its way right now.”
“Sherpa got the car here a day earlier. It was in an enclosed trailer and it wasn`t squeezed in. The car had no scratches. The driver was great. He’s a little older and a very polite and nice guy. Also, the quote they gave me was accurate. There was no bait and switch as I read about all the other transport companies. So I was very happy with the experience. It was excellent.”
“I highly recommend Sherpa Auto Transport. The company coordinated our auto transport, found a driver in a timely manner, explained the process and was available to answer any questions that came up. Our car arrived safely within the time frame specified. The driver was professional and courteous.”

- Route Popularity: Cary’s proximity to major highways like I-40 and I-95 can positively impact shipping costs, as carriers frequently travel these routes.
- Pickup and Delivery Locations: Urban areas in and around Cary are generally cheaper for car shipping than rural locations. Consider meeting your carrier at a more accessible location to potentially reduce costs.

Is my vehicle insured transporting to or from Cary?
Yes, our quotes are all-inclusive. All of our carriers are required to have a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability insurance and $100,000 in cargo insurance. To ship your vehicle, we verify that the carrier’s insurance policy is valid and in good standing for the duration of your shipment.
All contracted carriers also add Sherpa as a Certificate Holder on their insurance policy.
How far out should I schedule my pickup service from Cary?
The sooner, the better. We recommend at least two weeks, but it’s ideal to post your shipment as soon as possible so that carriers can bundle your shipment with others in the same location.

No payment is due at the time of booking. We do require a payment method on file so that it is available to charge once a carrier is secured. We accept all major debit and credit cards, including Mastercard, Visa, Discover and American Express. What’s the difference between Open vs Enclosed Auto Transport?
Enclosed transport is at least 50% higher than open trailers. Of course, if there are transportation restrictions or safety challenges the carrier will work with you to arrange an alternative location, such as a nearby gas station or parking lot.

We provide one locked-in price upfront and stick to it. If unexpected costs arise, we pay them out of our own pocket. While we may not always be the cheapest option at first glance, our commitment to transparency and reliability offers exceptional value. In winter, while Cary doesn’t typically see heavy snowfall, occasional icy conditions can occur. When scheduling car transport during this season:

- Remove heat-sensitive items from the car to prevent melting or damage.
Cary’s proximity to several universities means that car shipping demand peaks at the beginning and end of academic terms. To avoid delays and potentially higher costs:
- Book your auto transport a few weeks before or after these busy periods if possible.
- Plan ahead during August and May when student moves are most common.
Additionally, Cary’s location in the Research Triangle Park area means business relocations can impact car transport demand. To ensure smooth Cary car shipping:
- Book early if moving during peak corporate relocation seasons (typically spring and fall).
- Be flexible with pickup and delivery dates to secure better rates and availability.
By considering these factors, you can optimize your car shipping experience to or from Cary, NC, ensuring a smooth and efficient process regardless of the season.

Reviews from our North Carolina Customers
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, as evidenced by our 4.9 rating with over 8,000 reviews. Here are a few more reviews from satisfied North Carolina customers:
“The experience with Sherpa was wonderful. We contacted different auto transport companies. Sherpa answered a bunch of questions I had that other people couldn’t answer. They were competitive in their pricing too. It was less than I thought it was going to be. When you look at the bad reviews of different companies, you always find out that it’s a bait-and-switch price thing. It scares you a little bit. But Sherpa’s price guarantee alleviated a lot of that. Within a half hour of agreeing with Sherpa, they had a driver assigned. The driver called me up the day before. He told me he was likely to make it out the next morning, but there was a chance he would be there that night and asked if that would be a problem. I told him it wouldn’t be. They picked up the car earlier than we had expected. But we were prepared to do it. The driver was pleasant. He was able to communicate and got the car off the truck. The car came three days before it was anticipated. The driver called the day before to let me know and pinpointed a time. Around that time, he called me up and asked if I could meet him at his location which I did. The car came off perfectly. I’m very happy with their services. When you read about these types of companies that are middlemen like Sherpa, it’s a scary process ’cause you hear all kinds of horror stories. But Sherpa was able to relax me, calm me down, and had a flawless pick-up and delivery. The group that Sherpa contracted with was a company called Umbrella. Through emails and communications with both Umbrella and Sherpa, I had the driver’s contact information the whole time. I was clearly led through perfectly. They allowed us extra weight in the car, but we didn’t need any of it. I was floored with how well things went, especially when you consider the weather patterns that were going through East Coast and through the Midwest in early January. Instead of taking the north route, they took the south route through Texas and Arizona.”
“I recommand Sherpa very highly. After waiting days for the the pick up day with the original carrier arranged with Sherpa, the driver showed up with a broken truck driving at max. speed of 5mph, and he insted on us to bring the car to a lot 15 miles away while he gets his car `diagnosed` for repair. Sherpa stepped in to fix the delayed schedule by quickly arranging a new carrier. The new carrier, then gave me no update or location confirmation after the car was picked up. My car was delivered 3 days late after 9 days of this scary experience. Sherpa was very good responding timely via emails to coordinate this situation by opening up the communication with the carrier`s dispatcher. If it wasn`t for Sherpa, this whole experience would have been a lot more scary. Thank you Sherpa!”
“This was the first time I attempted to ship a car. As I started doing research I was bombarded with dozens of emails and quotes as well as stories of how you must choose the right carrier so you don’t get scammed (such as charging you more once your vehicle arrives just to get it off the truck!) Or not paying enough and the vehicle sitting on a truck for weeks as the higher bids get delivered first. It was scary and confusing. Sherpa made ALL the difference! They explained the process in detail and guaranteed a price as well as pick up and delivery time. Ship with confidence using Sherpa!”
“I could n0t be more please the way Sherpa transported my car from Cary NC to Phenix. The car arrived in the exact same condition as when it left NC. The gentleman who picked dup the car was very courteous and answered all of my questions.”
“Top-notch, I would highly recommend”

What is Car Shipping?
Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in Cary, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of North Carolina. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.
