What our Garner customers say about Sherpa:
“I called 3 different transport companies and Sherpa seemed to be the most organized and the easiest to deal with. Just from the first conversation, they were great so we went with them. The quote was very fair and the same as the final cost. The delivery from North Carolina to Washington state went well and the condition of my Audi was great.”
“Thank you so much for the fabulous experience we recently had transporting our car with Sherpa. Just as states starting closing down in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, our daughter’s car died. She is an ICU nurse at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore and would have taken the bus if the social distancing order was not in effect. We had an extra car for her to use in North Carolina but couldn’t get it to her because of the quarantine order in Maryland.”
“My daughter moved from Oregon to North Carolina. We were overwhelmed by all the car transport services and heard several scams were out there. I was so impressed with Sherpa. I paid for the 5 day pick up and they were able to pick up her car next day. The driver contacted me and let me know that he had extra room on his truck and to load up my daughters car.”

When choosing an auto transport company, it is crucial to select the best car shipping company by considering factors such as reliability, customer satisfaction, and transparency in pricing.
Factors that affect Garner Car Shipping Prices
- Distance: The length of the journey from or to Garner, NC significantly impacts car shipping costs. Longer distances generally mean higher prices, but per-mile rates often decrease for longer trips.
- Transport Type: Open carriers are the most common and cost-effective option for auto transport to or from Garner. Enclosed trailers, while offering more protection, are about 50% more expensive and may have longer delivery times.
- Location Accessibility: Garner’s proximity to major highways like I-40 and US-70 can help reduce shipping costs. Urban areas are typically cheaper to ship to than rural locations.
- Seasonal Factors: Garner’s mild climate means fewer weather-related shipping challenges. However, summer months and January often see higher demand and prices for car shipping services.
- Vehicle Size and Condition: Larger or heavier vehicles cost more to ship. Inoperable cars require special equipment, increasing the price. Ensure your vehicle is in running condition to keep costs down.
- Timing Flexibility: Opting for a wider pickup window can lead to more competitive rates for car transport to or from Garner. Rush or guaranteed pickup services will increase the cost.
Understanding these factors can help you plan and budget for your Garner car shipping needs. For a more detailed breakdown of cost factors, check out our car shipping calculator guide. Tips & Tricks for Saving on Vehicle Shipping
- Book early: Schedule your Garner car shipping at least two weeks in advance. This allows carriers to optimize routes and potentially offer discounts for bundling multiple vehicles.
- Choose open transport: Open shipping is more cost-effective and flexible than enclosed transport, making it easier to negotiate lower rates for your auto transport needs.
- Optimize pickup/dropoff locations: Work with Sherpa Auto Transport advisors to find convenient spots near major highways like I-40 or US-70. This can significantly reduce fuel costs for carriers.
- Remove personal items: Empty your vehicle before shipping. This reduces weight and liability, potentially lowering your car shipping costs.
- Be flexible with dates: Offering a range of pickup and delivery dates can help you secure better rates for your Garner, NC car transport.
- Consider terminal-to-door or door-to-terminal: While Sherpa doesn’t offer terminal-to-terminal services, opting for one end of your journey to be at a terminal can sometimes reduce costs.

Is my vehicle insured transporting to or from Garner?
Yes, our quotes are all-inclusive. All of our carriers are required to have a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability insurance and $100,000 in cargo insurance. To ship your vehicle, we verify that the carrier’s insurance policy is valid and in good standing for the duration of your shipment.

What’s the difference between Open vs Enclosed Auto Transport?
Enclosed transport is at least 50% higher than open trailers. Of course, if there are transportation restrictions or safety challenges the carrier will work with you to arrange an alternative location, such as a nearby gas station or parking lot.

We provide one locked-in price upfront and stick to it. If unexpected costs arise, we pay them out of our own pocket. While we may not always be the cheapest option at first glance, our commitment to transparency and reliability offers exceptional value. As a premium service, we ensure an stress-free experience from start to finish.
What types of vehicles can you transport?
We transport sedans, SUVs, pickup trucks, vans and motorcycles across the nation, including service to Alaska and Hawaii. At this time, we do not service boats, golf carts, ATVs, or RVs. Reviews from our North Carolina Customers
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, as evidenced by our 4.9 rating with over 8,000 reviews. Here are a few more reviews from satisfied North Carolina customers:
“We were in transition, moving from California to North Carolina, so we had several vehicles and one of them was an older Jeep Wrangler that I wanted to send to my son. He`s in Baltimore, Maryland. So, it’s from San Diego to Baltimore, Maryland. Our plans were very fluid early in the summer so originally, we arranged with Sherpa to send the vehicle to North Carolina in May. That changed because we figured out that we needed the vehicle in California through the summer. So, I contacted Sherpa and put it on hold until September. They were good to work with. They put it on hold like I requested and followed up several times to make sure things were still on track and to get good timing. Once our plans were firmed up, I was able to reach back out to them and we arranged the transport very quickly. We were living on our boat this summer and the guy came one night. I explained that to him and that we were with the Jeep. This was on the day of the pickup and I told him there was no rush. Any time that night was fine and he could just text me and let me know when he was there and I would meet him out front. And that’s exactly what happened. It was great. We looked over the vehicle and he did probably as good of a job as I did in terms of documenting the condition of the vehicle. Then he was good to go. I didn`t need to watch him load it onto his truck. He did that and I went back down to the boat. It all hinged on communication and it was very good.”
“We shipped a 2006 Mercedes Benz for 630 miles. We looked at two other companies but Sherpa was going to be slightly cheaper because they’re offering a rebate once you send in the final statement after it shipped. Also, they sounded like they could get it done a little quicker. But it ended up not being so. When we booked with them, the process was quick and easy. The rep got all the information and said they would contact us. They couldn’t find a driver for the time that we had slotted, but it was also the holidays. It wasn’t a bad experience and we weren’t in any rush so it wasn’t a big deal for us anyway. We got emails saying they were trying to find drivers daily and then when they finally found one we then got calls. The vehicle was delivered the next night after it was picked up. The delivery guy was a nice guy. He called at 6:00 PM when he was in Huntsville. He had just dropped off another vehicle and he asked if we still wanted him to come that evening. We said yes. He said, he’d be on his way and be in about 7:30 and it was about 8:00 o’clock when he arrived. He did a good job. There was nothing wrong with the car, it looked exactly like it was when I left it.”
“I used Sherpa Auto Transport to transport a Jeep from Charlotte, NC to Austin, TX two weeks ago and was very pleased with their service. They were very easy to work with, kept in contact with me, followed up on any questions, picked up and delivered as scheduled, and were fairly priced. When the carrier Sherpa hired to transport my vehicle had not contact me as planned, I called Sherpa who immediately contacted the carrier, then followed up to see that the carrier had called me. At each stage of the process, Sherpa kept me up to date with emails as to the status of the transport. The driver for the carrier communicated with me on the days of pickup and delivery as to the specific time (within an hour) and location for pick-up and drop-off, as the truck was too large for some neighborhood streets. The driver also took good care loading, securing, and unloading my vehicle. I worked primarily with one contact at Sherpa for the entire process but when she wasn’t available her colleague addressed and followed up on my question quickly. I highly recommend that Sherpa Auto Transport be considered for any of your vehicle transport needs.”
“Used Sherpa to ship my son’s car from North Carolina to Seattle. They had a four day window to schedule a pick pick up. They did an exceptional work locating a carrier and emphasizing that the car must be picked up by a certain date. They kept me well informed about the progress. Mike from Sherpa called and emailed multiple times a day with updates. The car was picked up and delivered in less than a week. The carrier Diesel Auto Express were awesome as well. This was a great and smooth experience, they even pay to have your car washed. Highly recommend Sherpa.”
“I researched about 10 or so transporters for my vehicle. I needed a classic car shipped from NC to NY. Sherpa was one of the top transport companies I came across while doing my research. As anyone should be, I was skeptical as I had never done this type of blind transaction. After talking to a Rep, I decided to book with SHERPA. I will say that I am 1000000% satisfied. Everything was up front. No hidden gimmicks or fees. They picked up and delivered my vehicle in the time frame they said they would. My car was delivered with no issues WHATSOEVER. I may never need another Auto transport. If I ever did, I would definitely use SHERPA again. Hats off to you guys.”

What is Car Shipping?
Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in Garner, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of North Carolina. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.
