What our League City customers say about Sherpa:
“I had a very good experience with Sherpa and Kate! I called several other companies only to hear the same thing, that they could not guarantee shipping times. I decided to contact Sherpa as I had received a quote from them when I began to shop for auto transporters, but now I was desperate. The agent I dealt with from Sherpa was Kate and she had solutions not excuses. Yes, I did pay for expedited service, but she got a carrier assigned the same day and saved the day! The car was picked up on January 4th in Texas and it arrived ahead of schedule in San Diego on January 7th.”
“I used Sherpa Auto Transport to transport a Jeep from Charlotte, NC to Austin, TX two weeks ago and was very pleased with their service. They were very easy to work with, kept in contact with me, followed up on any questions, picked up and delivered as scheduled, and were fairly priced. When the carrier Sherpa hired to transport my vehicle had not contact me as planned, I called Sherpa who immediately contacted the carrier, then followed up to see that the carrier had called me.”
“I used Sherpa transport to help me out of a bad spot. I picked up a car at a dealership in Dallas Texas and started my 22 hr trip back home. I got as far a Little Rock Arkansas and at 11:30 hit one of Interstate 40’s famous Arkansas pot holes it must have been about 2 feet in diameter and at least 6″ deep. It ruined my tire and broke my 22″ rim. I tried the next day to find someone to fix my car, but nobody had a wheel and tire for my exotic (no spare in car)”

Factors that affect League City Car Shipping Prices
- Distance: The length of the journey significantly impacts car shipping costs to or from League City, TX. Longer distances generally mean higher prices, but the cost per mile typically decreases for longer trips.
- Transport Type: Open carriers are the most common and cost-effective option for auto transport in League City. Enclosed trailers, while offering extra protection, are about 50% more expensive and may have longer delivery times.
- Location Accessibility: League City’s proximity to major highways like I-45 and SH 3 can help reduce costs. Urban areas are generally cheaper for pickup and delivery compared to rural locations.
- Vehicle Size and Weight: Larger or heavier vehicles, such as SUVs or trucks, typically cost more to ship than standard cars due to the space they occupy on the carrier.
- Seasonal Factors: League City’s mild winters and hot summers can affect car shipping prices. Summer months often see higher demand and prices, while winter shipping may be more affordable.
- Vehicle Condition: Operable vehicles are cheaper to transport as they can be driven onto the carrier. Non-running cars require special equipment, increasing the cost.
- Flexibility: Being flexible with pickup and delivery dates can lead to better rates. Rush or guaranteed delivery services will increase the cost of shipping your car to or from League City.

Tips & Tricks for Saving on Vehicle Shipping
- Book early: Schedule your League City car shipping at least two weeks in advance. This allows carriers to optimize routes and potentially offer discounts for bundling multiple vehicles.
- Choose open transport: Opt for open shipping to get the lowest rates. While enclosed carriers are necessary for some vehicles, open transport offers more flexibility and cost savings.
- Select strategic locations: Work with Sherpa Auto Transport advisors to find pickup and dropoff points near major highways like I-45 or TX-146. This can significantly reduce fuel costs and overall shipping expenses.
- Empty your vehicle: Remove personal items from your car before shipping. This reduces weight and potential liability issues during transport.
- Be flexible: Offering a range of pickup and delivery dates can help you secure better rates. Consider adjusting your schedule to take advantage of more cost-effective shipping options.
- Consider seasonal timing: League City’s mild winters make it an ideal time for car shipping. Summer months may see higher demand and prices due to increased relocations.
- Prepare your vehicle: Ensure your car is in good working condition before shipping. This can prevent delays and additional costs associated with non-operational vehicles.

Is my vehicle insured transporting to or from League City?
Yes, our quotes are all-inclusive. All of our carriers are required to have a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability insurance and $100,000 in cargo insurance. To ship your vehicle, we verify that the carrier’s insurance policy is valid and in good standing for the duration of your shipment.

Reviews from our Texas Customers
We pride ourselves on excellent customer service, as evidenced by our 4.9 rating with over 8,000 reviews. Here are a few more reviews from satisfied Texas customers:
“I had my daughters car transported from SA, Texas to Idaho and Sherpa is THE BEST!!! Always friendly, informative, and TOP NOTCH customer service!!! The company that they got to transport the car was equally amazing! The gentleman from Horizon Carriers had excellent communication, showed up when he said he would, and was detailed in checking out the car. The car left TX on a Monday at about 9:45 pm and arrived in N. Idaho on Wednesday at about 3:45 pm! The carrier was friendly and customer service was excellent! The street where he picked up the car was too narrow for his truck, so he parked the truck, walked to the pick up address, checked out the car, filled out the BOL and drive by daughter`s car to the truck and loaded it! Great work Horizon Carriers and superb vetting process on the part of Sherpa Auto Transport for choosing only the best of the best for their customers! This was our first time transporting a car so we were nervous, but Sherpa made it a truly stress-free experience!!! Thank you for caring about your customers and putting their needs first!”
“I retained Sherpa Auto Transport to transport a SUV from TX to NJ. I opted for a flexible 5 day window pick up and open transport. They weren`t the cheapest but they weren`t the most expensive either. I went with them because they had a $100k cargo insurance and provided reimbursement for a car cleaning 2 weeks from drop off. The deposit and final payment was all relayed by credit card, which was convenient. After a deposit was made, they sent my order to dispatch to match with a driver. I made the initial order 2 weeks before pick up and was assigned a driver a few days before the start of my pick up window. The driver contacted me the night before pick up of their expected arrival time. When they arrived, we walked around the car to confer the condition of the vehicle and they took the vehicle to load onto their trailer. It took about a week and they had a local driver drop off at the destination who also walked through the condition of the car. It was nice, simple, easy, and they were communicative. Would definitely recommend and use again if necessary!”
“We had a field vehicle that needed to be moved from one project location to another. The transport was from Corpus Christi to El Paso. I got quotes from four or five different logistics companies. Sherpa was one of the cheapest and I wanted to go with them because they offered $300 to cover any unexpected fees from the driver. Every single one of those other logistics carrier companies was calling me and emailing me nonstop saying that Sherpa wouldn`t do it and that they weren`t going to get somebody for that price. But Sherpa ended up meeting our expectations at the price I was quoted and not a dollar more. I emailed every one of those other companies back and said, “Thanks for your scare tactics, but they got it done at the price quoted. Don`t contact me again.” Every other company I dealt with felt like a used car salesman type of situation. But Sherpa was really professional and not pushy. That process from beginning to end was a little over a week. The driver was great. As soon as the carrier was established, they immediately got in touch with us via email. They gave the pickup contact a good heads up of a couple of hours and they did the same thing with the delivery contact. The transport was completed around the end of August or beginning of September. When our need came up for another hotshot, Sherpa was just my first phone call. They stayed true to their price. They had good customer service and communication along the way. Overall. it was a positive first experience and we went with them for the second one as well.”
“My experience was great start to finish. There was a miscommunication error, but it was an easy fix. I started researching about 6 weeks before my move. I was connected with Scott who explained the process to me. I took the info and compared with other companies. Sherpa stood out with the price guarantee and great reviews so they were my choice. I submitted my credit card info to hold and then I received a call about 48 before the beginning of my transport window. They let me know that a driver had accepted my bid and that I would get another call about 24 hours prior to transport. I got the call and they picked up my car the next day. I was moving from KY to TX the next day. To my surprise they said the car would arrive in Texas the next day. I expected it to take a few days. I landed in Texas the next morning and as I was leaving the airport in an Uber, my phone rings saying that my car had been unloaded and the driver was waiting on me. How in the world?! My car left KY at 4pm and was in TX at 10am the next morning. The car actually got there before I did. The driver was great, customer service was great, my overall experience was great. I highly recommend Sherpa.”
“The gentleman from Sherpa who assisted me was very informative, explaining the whole process. He told me what to be aware of and of how other companies can take advantage if you don`t know what you`re looking for. He didn`t say that he was the right choice. He said it was my choice to select the company I wanted to use for my auto transport. So, I felt confident that he provided me with the right information. I spoke to others as well and they were much higher. So, I went with the one that was best for my budget. Sherpa was very straightforward and even gave me the opportunity to select who I wanted to choose. They weren`t going to be the best choice but I went with them because they were truthful and honest about the process. Shawn, the driver, was wonderful. His partner reached out to me and informed me that they would be able to pick up my car. She told me what day they would be picking it up and what day to expect it here in my area for delivery. So, she kept me engaged as far as giving me a status. When they knew they weren`t gonna be able to make it a day earlier, they were very upfront, giving me a call to tell me that the driver had a delay, there was no additional fees for that delay, and was still able to get it to me on the day that they originally stated it would. So, it was very good communication. Then, when the vehicle got here, it was very easy to find the gentleman. We met in a public location, in a Walmart parking lot, for the driver’s safety because of how big of a rig he was driving, and for my safety, too, not knowing whom I was going to be meeting with. I had a nice conversation with the gentleman. My husband and I both felt like he was a straightforward, very good guy. And it was simple and very easy. I was quoted 725. I paid 250 for the deposit and my card did not get charged any more than the 250. I had to provide 475 cash at the time of delivery, which I was able to do. And everything was fine. There was no fluctuation in the cost.”

What is Car Shipping?
Car shipping, also known as auto transport or vehicle transport, is a specialized service provided by car shipping companies to move vehicles from one location to another. Whether you’re buying or selling a car online, relocating to a new home in League City, or needing to transport a vehicle abroad, car shipping companies have the expertise and equipment to handle the job safely and efficiently. These companies use specialized carriers and trailers to ensure your vehicle is transported securely, giving you peace of mind throughout the process.
About the Car Shipping Industry
Car shipping is a fascinating industry. There are Carriers – the businesses that pickup and transport vehicles – and there are Brokers – the businesses that help Carriers source their customers. Carriers are primarily mom & pop small businesses who own and operate their trucks and trailers – many of whom own and operate their businesses out of Texas. This means there are thousands of carriers and this fragmentation creates a need for centralization. That’s why Carriers rely on Brokers – like Sherpa – to help optimize their loads and source business for them. Sherpa vets Carriers and has a strict list of requirements for any Carrier looking to do business with Sherpa Auto Transport.
